How many times do we concede a free kick right before halftime or full time, and it always costs us a goal.Don't no were to start this report
other to say the effort was better but you can't win playing this way against teams like Chelsea, just a matter of time before we concede a goal.

IF Only Fraser Forster had more in the wall and moved his feet quicker then it would have been a well earned point. Despite that praise must go to FF for keeping us in the game with numerous first class saves and how some can't give him 8's or 9's bewilders me.

24 Shots against us, 6 for us. A bit more luck, and we could have sneaked a draw. FF was excellent, our MotM.

Sadly, Saints aren't complete enough to compete in this company and I fear that we might not be good enough to survive this season inn the EPL. Realistically speaking I believe that too many changes of key personnel have taken place at our club in too short a time, both on and off the field. This, however, is a symptom of today's money-mad football market. Too many people are bleeding the game for their own gain and for Saints, that may end in relegation. Some serious discussions are needed within the club and some inflated prices might need to be paid out in January but, even that might not be enough. Also, some deeper thought must be given to the supporter experience. We have paid high restaurant prices for a greasy spoon cafe menu for the past one and a half seasons.

I thought we played very well. Disappointing not to come away with a point. Redmond is so frustrating. What can Gabbi do to get the ball. Last 2 substitutions were fairly pointless. Losing Bertrand and Cedric is a big blow. Things are getting very tight in the lower half of the table now. Squeaky Bum Xmas for Saints fans!

Putting aside the Leicester debacle, most of the changes worked. Jack Stephens is OK as a CB, but ...(like Yoshida) ...looks distinctly unhappy as a full back at this level. Hojbjerg , Hoedt and Lemina still haven't been introduced to the rest of the squad (!). The main problem i still a group of strikers who can't score.

For all the good of his "Pep talk", Nathan Redmond still plays like an enthusiastic schoolboy with lots of impressive-looking runs, but then either runs out of space, or ideas. Although he didn't get in the game, VvD looks only a former shadow of his former self since returning, so the sooner he goes - the better . We won't get another chance to sell a player for £70 million. That sort of money will go a long way - considering the way we normally buy in players.

I have some sympathy for MP, who had a good 95 minute plan against City, and did well to keep Chelsea down to only one goal´, but we lack creativity in midfield and strikers who can score. (Austin an exception).

NOTE: Our U18 squad looks good, but there is no Walcott or Bale there... yet.

Same old story with there goal wide open in the middle,we never seem to learn our lesson.Shame about Charlie Austin now we will need a striker more than ever to take over for him. This side we put out with so many changes was baffling even allowing for all the games coming up.Now really is going to be a challenge
With the next games coming up
