Which EPL team has run the furthest? 07:36 - Nov 7 with 3523 views | AnotherJohn | Not us! We are third from bottom and seem to be out of puff. We are not exactly playing a high-pressing game or (except for Tammy) one with much movement upfront. 1st Bournemouth 1256km 2nd West Brom 1247km 3rd Tottenham 1246km (...) 14th Crystal Palace 1201km 15th Leicester 1195km 16th Southampton 1194km 17th Stoke 1183km 18th Swansea 1182km 19th West Ham 1162km 20th Man Utd 1162km http://www.skysports.com/football/news/12040/11116633/manchester-united-bottom-o

Maybe it proves that players are not moving into space for the player on the ball to have options where to pass. Surely, it’s plain to see, and people have complained on PS that the ball is being played backwards because of a lack of movement ahead. The only midfielder that shows enough movement into space is the one that’s been with us the longest, Leon. The gaps that are appearing in the centre of the pitch are showing that the necessary “ move into space “ thoughts are not with the players, or, have they been coached differently more recently? The effort by the players last Saturday just emphasises the point that the stats show. I was annoyed by the lack of passion and willingness to have a go. If we lose a game because the other side are much better than us well OK, but to lose because of apparent lack of effort is criminal.

Which EPL team has run the furthest? on 09:41 - Nov 7 with 3344 views | STID2017 | What does that prove? Manure run less than us Surely if running provides success then Man City should be top with about 5000km ? WBA are second, yet they are not ripping the league apart ? What a load of tosh

It’s not a load of tosh, it’s quite salient, though it only backs up what we already know. Our focus is on keeping shape and players being in position We don’t press hard when out of possession in non threatening positions When we do go forward, we don’t hunt in packs (probably the wrong phrase) Our off the ball movement when in possession is limited

It may show us what we already know, but it shows you can organise a successful team and not run your socks off (Man City) or run your socks off and still be poor (WBA). I get the impression that the OP intended to show us as failing due to not running enough, when we all know the truth lies deeper than that

Which EPL team has run the furthest? on 11:27 - Nov 7 with 3239 views | AnotherJohn | I think the point is that the teams with quality don't have to press and run into space as much as the strugglers. Man Utd can get away with it, but ourselves and West Ham are bottom three in the league table and also bottom three in the running table. Palace are only a tad higher in the running table. As others have said, Gylfi used to be near the top of the individual distance running list, and is being sorely missed. Who are the weaker teams doing well who do not run?
