An EPL team of ex-Swans? 20:47 - Nov 27 with 1838 viewsAnotherJohn

Watching the Palace vs Newcastle game tonight made me think about the number of ex-Swans still playing in the EPL. By my reckoning we could put together a team of: Fabianski, Davies, Roden, Fernandez, Taylor, Cork, Sigurdsson, Shelvey, James, McBurnie, Abrahams. Subs: Brewster, Ayew (J), Hernandez, Gallagher, Bartley.

I know there are one or two square pegs in round holes, and that I'm stretching things with a few loanees, but it makes one think that if we had played our cards differently we might still be in the top league. Did I forget anybody?

We turned down the current manager of Barcelona to instead offer the job permanently to Garry "3 wins in 14" Monk.

We turned down Marcelo Bielsa who said he wanted the job.

Reports state we failed to meet the demands set by Rodgers for a return as well.

Those are the cards we needed to play differently.

We were going to meet Rodgers demands but then we saw a " better deal"

...I'm not disagreeing with the rest though.

Over a hundred PL apps for Burnley since leaving us. They're missing him this season, been injured.

To think some people still, even now, underrate Jack Cork.

Selling and not adequately replacing him was a huge mistake.

Pain or damage don't end the world. Or despair, or f*cking beatings. The world ends when you're dead. Until then, you got more punishment in store. Stand it like a man... and give some back.

Very good player. Criminally underrated. I was gutted when he left...it was a sign of things to come.

Was never a perfect fit for our style and expectations given the mythologisation of Leon, but a good player nonetheless.

We sold him for about 8 million and replaced him with clucas for double that. It’s no wonder we got relegated.
