Pouilly Fumee at £10.
Both 50% reduction.
If they have some left Ste,grab them.
Also, Aldi has a Portuguese Ribero Douro for £7.99. Insane. Portuguese wines very underated . If you have the chance to go to the Douro valley,do it. |  |

Not for me Builth. The Chardonnay is Ok but the Pinot Noir is poor and the Shiraz and red blends are too sweet for me. Of the branded wines I rate the Chilean Cono Sur Bicecletta and Casilliero del Diablo as better value. I also rate Ian Bothams all rounder range (his more expensive series wines are very good indeed -but only on offer!).
My wife likes the 19 Crimes range, but again a bit unsubtle for my taste | | | |

19 Crimes is lovely particularly the uprising , Apothic is very nice the red and the black, Yellow Tails Jammy Roo Red is delicious though. | |

You can't go wrong with a Chilean Merlot. Never had a bad one.
You'd have to be a bit bonkers to part with anything more than about eight quid for a bottle of wine though (vendor dependent). Once you get past that price there's no real difference in taste.
Basically anything that costs more than a fiver in Lidl or Aldi is worth a try. |  |

Depends where you're buying from. I've had £6 bottles from Aldi that taste better than £12 bottles Tesco, albeit all of those being reds, so perhaps with other varieties there's a bit more variance.

Aldi or Lidl you can rarely go wrong with.

They do a meal deal for 2 for £10.
Mains. Sides, Deserts. Plus a bottle of wine.
You would be mad not to buy.

Whites are always a difficult choice, McGuigan's Chardonnay is lovely, but we enjoy Yellows Tails wines, think we're pretty much sorted on Reds, but willing to try others, we try to pick wines to have with fish or steak so its either a white with fish or a red with steak, but some wines like Jammy Ro Red, Apothic deserve to be drank on their own, because of their flavours, The Merlot are nice with Steak, not so much a fan of Malbec wines, so far at least. | |

NEVER drink Australian Chardonnay. The oak caskets the wine ages in give a horrible tangy taste rendering it almost unrecognizable in taste to a normal Chardonnay. The Chilean Chardonnays are lovely as obviously the French are too.
As for yellow tail - the Malbec is my favourite- superb value at 7 or 8 pounds a bottle. |  |

Recently got sent a gift of a case of 12 mixed wines for doing a favour for someone.
It was from the Sunday Times Wine club. Being a nosey sod I went to check the cost. The case of red and white was just over a hundred quid.
Never been in to white wine. More of a full bodied red but have to say, I have been pleasantly surprised so far. [Post edited 6 Mar 2022 8:15]
