I used to know a director at Wigan when they signed Quinnell . He was ,for league unfit,although fit enough for union .

If you had asked someone is this the fifth minute or the 75 th they would have been hard pressed to tell the difference. The intensity Penrith played with from the 70th minute - they threw everything at Wigan and hardly a handling error .Wigan held out - just! But it was a close run thing .Great advert for

If you had asked someone is this the fifth minute or the 75 th they would have been hard pressed to tell the difference. I watch union players,especially Props blowing out of their arses after running 20 yards . No exaggeration . At line outs and retaken scrums ,they have a break, a chance to suck in some oxygen .
Much if the game ,they are static ,immobile . At scrums,their flab is clearly visible . It is appalling .
Rugby League is non stop ,full stop.
I ve never played in a RL team but coached under 14 rugby team and I tried to implement some League skill sets into the lads game. Even our young lads found it hard ,brutal even.
If you get the opportunity ,one day,get to see the Australian national side . They are nothing less than amazing . Astonishing,fitness,skills and temperament . | |
