I’m really worried about relegation next season now! As the game so far today has just summed up saints for the second half of the season, where we start strong, get loads of chances.... but don’t take them! Then come to regret it when they score and take the lead! Then in the second half we just create bugger all and lay off the game like we’re winning!

The fact is that we just don’t have a good enough squad, and that’s for basically every position! As I personally think we’ve only got like 5 proper PL players (Ings, Prowse, Armstrong, Walker-Peters and maybe Vestergaard and Romeu) but other than them we’ve got nobody! And there’s certain positions that we need to get in desperately (like a goalkeeper as I personally think McCarthy is better, but whether you agree or not, the fact is that nether McCarthy or Forster are PL quality!) yet we just won’t get them in as we don’t have the funding and we need like 6/7 players yet will be lucky to get like 3/4! And if Ings leaves the only chance we have at staying up is simply by ether investing loads in the summer (which we all know won’t happen whilst Gao invests bugger all into the club) or by teams being even worse than us! As I can see wolves struggling next season, along with Norwich and the usual lot. But whether they do worse than us is what I think will define of whether we stay up or not!

I personally I think that Ralph does get a bit more stick than he should, but WHY he keeps playing certain poor players like Redmond, over young talented ones like Tella (who was brilliant when he came on), and that he very rarely has a plan B are my main two issues with him! But it won’t matter who we have as manager next season unless things change. As we’ve been the 8th best team in the PL at home this season, but have been 18th for away games and have conceded over 40 goals! And these changes do simply involve getting in a new owner, so I don’t care how bad it could’ve been, or may be, as we WILL GO DOWN unless Gao buggers off!

Saints defence - the gift that keeps on giving.

Same shit, different game. All West Ham had to do was make sure we squandered our early chances, then wait for our defensive mistakes and punish us.

1-0 stupid throw given away, poor marking allowing Bowen to shoot, Bed turning his back and AMc partying it to the scorer.

2-0 Redmond screwed his clearance and Vest didn't pick up his man.

3-0 Bednarek with the gift

No wonder we have the 2nd worse away defence in the Prem !!

I really don't know why so many poor performers get repeatedly selected.

Why was Tella dropped to the bench ?

Wholesale changes are required this summer, otherwise it will be more of this year's form again next season.

Our manager is too stubborn for his own good and the good of the team. When practically the whole of the fan base repeatedly point out his selection and substitution errors, he just carries on regardless in his own blinkered way.. In effect his attitude almost amounts to wilful sabotage of the teams prospects.
He should be relieved of his duties without delay.

For long periods of this game we played well. We had 4 nailed on chances that we didn't convert. Silly lapses in defence cost us dearly. Several players looked like their futures lie elsewhere.

We looked a million miles away from the team we all saw playing in November.

I’m thinking of the positives from this match.

1) it was great to see the return of Oriel Romeu. One or two rusty moments but he generally looked composed and in the right positions.

2) it’s the end of the season.

A big summer for Ralph coming up. While he has enjoyed support to this point he won’t survive a slow start to the new season.

The table doesn't lie. Sure the defence was bad and also no goals yet again. Huge amount of work in the summer if we are going to get back on track.

An extraordinarily exhausting season, which went well until 2021, has finally finished. And yes, this game vs WH was deja vu. We played reasonably well but conceded three soft goals.
I hope RH has learned from his 2½ years in the PL, and that he gets the ressources to bring the team forward.
Players from our current squad I look forward to see play for Saints again. Un-mentioned players I'm unsure about.
