A great understudy to McCarthy.

We thought that we had the answers, It was the questions we had wrong.

Poll: If we win a play-off semi at St. Mary’s should there be a pitch invasion?

I guess we could loan Bazunu out to the Skates for the first couple of months of the season and let him do really well there.

Then recall him and let their season collapse like a pack of cards again.

How did it work out with the last young keeper we chucked City £15m for?

Meet the new owners, same as the old ones.

Still trying to 'game the market' in the vain hope that one of these £15m punts will turn into something Liverpool will want to pay 50m+ for in 2 year's time.

Still trying to improve the club's bank balance rather than improve the team on the pitch.

Experienced proven keepers are out there, Pope, Leno, Johnstone, etc.

I for one am pleased to see some investment in the future because it talks to a plan longer than survival for another season.

Reports about the young man are encouraging but we know that keepers don't reach their best until perhaps mid twenties.

The club is a business and has to think like a business. I know we think it's "our" club but it's not. It has owners and investors.

If the fans owned the club we would be unable to maintain the investment levels needed (this player alone at £10m, assuming 50,000 fans/owners is £200 each even if everybody paid).

From all I've seen and read this guy is a great prospect. Won POTY at Pompey and is highly regarded by everyone that's seen him play. Seems well worth getting in if we can.

16 million all agreed and as I said before he will compete for the number one slot straight away and has been promised that.

Just because it didn’t work out with Gunn, it doesn’t mean that it won’t with this guy. We have bought experienced players before and they haven’t worked out. We had bought inexperienced players and they have been terrific. Either way, if he signs, perhaps watch him play a few times before you write him and the club’s ambitions off?
