Still an unfortunate loss, only saw the last few minutes just after they went back in front at 2-1, but I sure do hope that Redmond ain’t gonna play next week, as even him being on for just 5 minutes showed that he’s just not with it! Had 3 great chances to create something/score, yet messed up each and every one of them.
Still, will be interesting to see the highlights to the game as I missed both teams first goals | |

Young players will always make mistakes. They are learning their trade. We will have mistakes again, all season with such a young squad. Great goal from Aribo. Defence looked a bit open (what's new?), not much up front but they are a good Spanish team so not sure, we will have to see how will do. | |

Yeah well they’re a team always battling for Europe. As we did well against Monaco and less soo today so it’s hard to tell of whether this pre seasons been good or not, but if we can get in just 2 more transfers (preferably another striker and centre half) then I think we’ll cope and finish like 14th or something. | |

Yeah sorry your right it is still him. But like you said he’s a young keeper so we better expect it, but seeing of just how many people rate him soo highly and how he’s done pretty well in other pre season games Bazunu should hopefully come through | |

Playing only 3 at the back doesn't work unless you have very good defenders with great pace and anticipation. Today, Walker-Peters and Djenepo were played as wingers so there really were only 3 at the back. Yeremy Pino and Gerard Moreno had a field day, exploiting the space in between our defenders. This formation would be suicidal against Spurs. By the way, what a fantastic player the 19-year-old Yeremi Pino is.
We still need a striker. I didn't see Broja or Ings' replacement there today. Young Sekou Mara looked a bit lost. Of course, it's early days yet. Perhaps my expectations were too high after the way Broja played last August. But, on the plus side, with Joe Aribo in the team, we are going to get more goals from midfield. His goal today was really spectacular. The last Saints player I saw score a goal like that was Mick Channon. [Post edited 31 Jul 2022 10:56]

It will be a great relief to nearly all Saints fans when we finally release McCarthy but at yesterday's game they asked one of the children taking part in the half-time relay race, who is your favourite player and to everyone's amazement, he replied Alex McCarthy!?!?!
