Braverman gone - and I suspect nobody is sorry
at 10:55 15 Nov 2023

Do “most of us” really think it is ok to send asylum seekers to Rwanda, that the homeless should be denied tents to sleep in, that it is ok to incite far right thugs to attack peaceful marchers, that people who March for peace are hate marchers? I think only other sociopathic, heartless scumbags think like her.
Her letter reads like a scorned lover and will not only damage her party but will probably end any chance she ever had of leading the party.
Even more good news. Her disgusting plans to deport people to Rwanda has been thrown out of court.

Braverman - deliberately provocative or a genuine lunatic?
at 13:39 12 Nov 2023

She encourage a bunch of knuckle dragging thugs to come to London and protect the Cenotaph from a non existent attack. Well, that was until these thugs attacked the police. Like most far right supporters, they are not particularly bright and probably completely missed the irony of throwing Nazi salutes around whilst supposedly supporting the Israeli regimes attack on mostly innocent Muslims in Gaza.
The woman is stirring up hate and division. Calling out the 99.05% peaceful marchers as Hate marchers tells you all you need to know. She knew exactly what she was doing, throwing red meat to Tommy Robinson and his fellow thugs and they were happy to oblige.

The type of people Braverman encouraged to come to London today are walking around London shouting “there ain’t no black in the Union Jack” and making Nazi salutes.

No it isn’t. It doesn’t reference Israel and it is about the Palestinians controlling their own lives. Perhaps if you stopped watching GB News you might understand this more.
The police have not been wishy washy about this march at all. They have liaised with the organisers throughout and suggested they moved the date. When the organisers said no they kept a close eye on the arrangements and at no time did it teach the proscribed threshold to be banned so they did what they needed to do to make sure it went off as peacefully as possible.
Braverman made their job harder by stoking up hate and encouraging Tommy Robinson and his thugs to get involved. They have caused the police more trouble so far than the main march.
As for the poppy sellers, the transport police said there were no problems for them. The bloke who said he was assaulted - it turns out a child stepped on his foot 😂.
Apart from that, you seem to have a good handle on things!

Farage Having Bank Accounts cancelled
at 13:32 4 Jul 2023

Apparently his Coutts account was closed because he no longer had the requisite amount in the account. The parent company, NatWest, offered him another account last week but he chose not to mention that. It appears that he is being as economical with the truth as he was when he campaigned for Brexit.

Starmer has backed Government policy where he has agreed with it and has already outlined a number alternative policies for taking the country forward but we will have to wait for the election manifestos to be published before we get the full picture. Labour aren’t the only alternative, there are other parties to explore rather then just sticking with this bunch. It is your choice of course though, and if you feel that they still deserve your vote after the last 13 years of mismanagement, so be it 🥲
At least the cricket is giving us something to cheer about.😎

Hi Arfurdent. I think that the LibDems will do well in the next election, not because they have got their act together but they will be an easier option for disaffected Tories. My hope is for a Labour/LibDem coalition. Although Starmer is a centrist it will help him kept the likes of Momentum at bay. It will also increase the chances of some electoral reform which is long overdue. We need a complete reset, much like the club!

June 6 1944 D-Day...
at 15:27 17 Jun 2023

When I was a kid I love films like The Longest Day and thought it was all good fun and very heroic. Walking out of the cinema after watching Saving Private Ryan with everyone in tears brought home the reality of what these guys went through. Talk about hell on earth. I can’t imagine how terrifying it must have been to have been in one of those landing craft. We owe them so much.

If only we were Bazza. When people with fixed term mortgages that end next year get their new rates we are going to be more in the crap than we are now. When the former head of the Bank of England blames Brexit for our troubles being worse than they could have been, we need to listen. I hope you are well?

Hi Kingslandstand. Hope you are well?
Regarding the gloating, not really. I would much prefer that this country wasn’t in such a state. Not much to look forward to either. My lot are usually LibDems but I am happy to support Starmer in the next election as I think he will make a good PM. He will have his work cut out though and I think it will take a good two terms to get us back to where we need to be.
The football hasn’t helped but at least we have the sunshine as you say! 😎

Hi again fellow Uglies! I had a break from the forum as I became fed up with the abuse but just wanted to come back and say, vindication! I took a load of stick for criticising Johnson and the recent Tory cabinets but hopefully those who felt the need to slag me off can see why.

The bloke has been found by his peers to be a serial liar. He is a narcissist, a pound shop Trump and should be nowhere near Parliament. The recent Tory cabinets have incompetent, arrogant, self obsessed, self serving and bloody useless.

The country is currently a mess and is going down the toilet.

If you voted for these clowns, is this what you expected to get?

Those who delighted in calling me a “cock” because of my criticism of these people, I was 100% right. 😘

According to an ITK elsewhere we are in for a striker, a full back and an attacking midfielder. Possibly a CB too assuming that Bednarek or Stephens could be off.
