Team For Leeds
at 12:13 14 Oct 2021
With Stephens and Adams definitely out through injury and JWP suspended, it will interesting to see the team selection for Saturday.
On the OS, RH talks of a straight swap Diallo for JWP, but no mention of his striking options.
Also with Stuart Armstrong fit enough for the bench in both of Scotland's games last week, (albeit an unused sub), I wonder if he will start, feature, or even make the bench v Leeds. We need him back in the team asap, but only if he is fully fit.
Surely RH now knows that the Walcott experiment is not working, but I still expect him to feature, as he is a RH favourite.
Subs - FF, Valery, Lyanco, Armstrong (S), Tella, Djenepo, Redmond, Smallbone or Walcott and Long.
We Are A Team Of Right Wingers !!
at 12:27 25 Aug 2021
Was having a football chat last night and have come to the conclusion that we have a overly large proportion of our squad that can play wide right !!
S Armstrong, Smallbone, Obafemi, Redmond, Walcott, Djenepo, Long, Elyounoussi, Valery, Tella, KWP, JWP and Livramento.
I've probably missed a couple as well, but all bar 1 or 2 of those mentioned have already played on the right wing for us !!
Danny Boy (Not Ings)
at 11:29 28 Jun 2021
For those on here with a forces background or interest, may I refer you to a film called 'Danny Boy' that was on BBC2 recently - and is available on catch up or if you search for it on Sky etc.
It is about a soldier (Brian Wood) who was in the battle of Danny Boy (Amarah, Iraq, 2004) who was later accused of war crimes and mistreating of prisoners etc, so tells of his 10 year fight to clear his name.
Quite interesting and based on his book 'Double Crossed'.
I think there are a few on here that would be interested in the book and/or film, so check it out and let me know what you think.
(I know Brian from a few football tours to Germany).

Just heard as he was being subbed that Ralph wants him on loan again next season ?
WTF has he done to suggest he is worth another loan FFS ?
I'd rather give Tella more game time and would even prefer to give Elyounoussi a go :-)
New Hummel Kit
at 13:08 19 May 2021
I know it used to be a bit of an old tradition, but I half wondered if we might be parading our new Hummel Kit for the game last night.
Would have been nice to see and perhaps a good opportunity missed in terms of marketing in front of the fans for the first time. Chelsea wore their new kit for the FA Cup final last Saturday, but I suppose they were not changing manufacturers.
I know we have had issues pretty much every season with Under Armour, which perhaps explain why our 7 year deal was cut short, but they have at least managed to produce a few good ones during their tenure.
Let's hope Hummel can surpass some of their retro classics, which I'm pleased to see are on sale in the Saints Store - well, online at least !!

You can tell the season is nearly over. The transfer rumour mill is really starting to pick up now, as agents and bloggers alike, try to generate interest in players. I've never seen us get so many mentions on the BBC Gossip Column !!
Southampton are poised to make a bid for Borussia Dortmund and Denmark midfielder Thomas Delaney, 29.
Southampton are lining up Reims left-back Ghislain Konan, 25, as a replacement for England defender Ryan Bertrand, 31, whose contract expires in the summer. Aston Villa have also been linked with the Ivory Coast defender.
The Saints could also make a move for Lazio's 26-year-old Albania goalkeeper Thomas Strakosha.
Football Trivia Question !!

Who were the last promoted team to do the double over us in their first season, without conceding a goal and to go on to finish at least 10 points above us ?
We always used to do so well against newly promoted sides, but this season we only took 7 out of a possible 18 !!
I guess we did the double over Sheffield United (again) and Burnley to compensate to an extent, but we really have had some embarrassing defeats to the lower half teams this season. (9 man Newcastle, WBA, etc)
