|Great goalkeeping for Pompey|

.......and there it is !! Riot on and off the pitch !!
Conceded 4 in the last 2 league games and lost at home to Sutton in the EFL cup.
Please don't sack the manager - this is great entertainment !!

The pass was superb, but the rest of his game was poor at best.
Doesn't know when to shoot or pass and was responsible for ending so many of our potential moves. We definitely carried him for most of the game. We looked much better when S Armstrong came on and Ely switched to the left.
Hopefully that is now S Armstrong back to his regular RM berth.

It really should be noted that JWP was one of FIVE changes from that starting line up versus Chelsea.
Today's excellent performance wasn't all down to his absence.
Was saying to a Leeds fan (in an original 70s Admiral shirt) after the game, that it was a long way to come to see 3 shots, 1 corner and no shots on target.
He said, slightly missing my point, "I'm from north London, so ain't got that far to go home" !! :-)

Needs must. That's pretty much all we have left, after the injuries and suspension.
Obviously Smallbone has been injured for ages, so I'm not expecting him to be back to his former self until into the new year - providing he get a bit of a run out in that time - be it 1st Team or U23s.
Too many of our players tend to have off days and as a team, it is difficult to carry even one at this level, let alone the 2 or 3 that we usually seem to have.

I'm surprised 130 our resident Skate Mate, hasn't been on to say they are boycotting the EFL Trophy once again this season (until they get near the final), or that tens of thousands didn't go because they were watching England instead.

With Stephens and Adams definitely out through injury and JWP suspended, it will interesting to see the team selection for Saturday.
On the OS, RH talks of a straight swap Diallo for JWP, but no mention of his striking options.
Also with Stuart Armstrong fit enough for the bench in both of Scotland's games last week, (albeit an unused sub), I wonder if he will start, feature, or even make the bench v Leeds. We need him back in the team asap, but only if he is fully fit.
Surely RH now knows that the Walcott experiment is not working, but I still expect him to feature, as he is a RH favourite.
Subs - FF, Valery, Lyanco, Armstrong (S), Tella, Djenepo, Redmond, Smallbone or Walcott and Long.

We had a funny posted about him on our Vets Football Whatsapp a few months ago, that went something like this.....
Jamie OHara Tweeted
Spurs have gone from playing Real Madrid and Barcelona every week, to Europa League Conference and playing Helsinki and Lask.
Pretty much like Danielle Lloyd going from Teddy Sheringham to you !!
|Worst injury watching football|

As a kid, I remember looking round a Sports complex somewhere local and wanted to watch a 5-a-side game that was taking place. I stood too close, got the ball full on in the face and had a nose bleed for the next half an hour !!
I remember going to Luton away in the cup, around 89 or 90, when away fans were banned from the league games, but allowed on the terrace for cup games. (We drew 1-1 with Cockerill scoring for us).
Anyway, the Saints fans were getting the atmosphere going and this guy stood on one of the big metal control barriers on the terrace and dictated a song or 2. He then decided to fall backwards, blindly into the fans behind and below him, almost like a stage dive - only most fans saw him falling back and decided to move out of the way !! He looked bloodied, concussed and in a bad way, but who knows the reality of his injuries !!
I think a good few others sustained injury that night, as there were loads of 'incidents' on the way back to the station.

The correct app has:
White football with black hexagon pattern
Red Band across the bottom
'Live' written in white
I'll try to sort a link out later, as busy with work atm, but if you type 'football TV live score' into the search box, it should be the first one that comes up. If not you should find it by the app description.

There is a stream available on:
Football TV Live Score
The app is available to download for free via the Apple and Play Stores.
I've used it a few times and it has been very good (once through a couple of ads) and the commentary has always been in English :-)

The 18k per week wages we were allegedly paying him, may have something to do with it.
Maybe he still expects to earn that amount in League 1.

Romeu won the ball, so it wasn't even a foul, let alone a yellow.
Thought he did well to overlook Antonio diving to the floor every time he lost the ball, but really should have sent him off for grabbing Stephens and throwing him to the floor - which is surely violent conduct.
If Salisu was worth a yellow then a few others should have too - especially Coufal, but other than a few inconsistencies and the advantage at the end, he did well, really.

Christie - £2.5m to Bmouth. I'm sure we would have paid more !! Be interesting to see how he gets on. Perhaps he moved down as he knew Stuart Armstrong was staying with us and he would have a fellow countryman living close by.
McKennie - clearly we don't want him now, as he chose Juve over us when we were trying to sign him. Surely he could do a job for us, but I wasn't aware Juve wanted to get rid of him until recently.
Choudhury - Not good enough, so no thank you.

I can't see him being a regular starter in any Prem side, which is possibly why his deal broke down, even at Newcastle. Perhaps he wanted guaranteed starts ?
He's a squad player at best, for me.

When it happened, we were comfortably 2-0 up, cruising and weren't going to lose.
Tella (when passed to) had done well and had scored by the time he fell, hence the good natured 'what the fvckin hell was that' chants from our fans.
It is fair to say that Redmond perhaps would have got a different fan reaction, especially after a few of those early first half shots were skewed so wide, but that aside, he did play quite well. It was his shot that led to the first goal, he eventually notched in the 2nd half and he did get MOTM from some pundits.

Was having a football chat last night and have come to the conclusion that we have a overly large proportion of our squad that can play wide right !!
S Armstrong, Smallbone, Obafemi, Redmond, Walcott, Djenepo, Long, Elyounoussi, Valery, Tella, KWP, JWP and Livramento.
I've probably missed a couple as well, but all bar 1 or 2 of those mentioned have already played on the right wing for us !!
at 12:16 25 Aug 2021
We will find out in 6 days time, no doubt !!
......but to be honest, I've not heard any rumours about him leaving.
