I had a brilliant night. Well worth the 250 m round trip on a Thursday evening. Thanks to Dave and Ric. The footage was a joy to watch. That fluency of movement from back to front was astounding. I got to meet Phil Parkes and Dave Thomas before I dashed off for the last train from Paddington. Both are lovely blokes, very warm and chatty. I hadn't ever realised Phil Parkes was so funny - he told some great stories. Dave Thomas was my hero as a kid. I used to get told off by my PE teachers for refusing to wear shinpads and rolling my socks down. Hence my name on the old QPRNet site - 'Dave Thomas' Socks'. Big shout out to the club for holding the event and the very obvious affection, honour and respect shown to the players in attendance. Proud to be there and relive some amazing times. He always comes over as a thoroughly decent and sensible bloke. Never stops trying on the pitch. Even if neither of these things were true, threatening his wife and kids is bang out of order. The cowardice and lack of awareness is staggering. |

Used to love reading his columns in the programme. |

That's great to hear. I assumed it was just the four of them, but to meet some of the others will be an added bonus. Dave B - what time are the videos being shown? |

I am really looking forward to meeting the legends - Parkes, Gillard, Francis and Thomas at the club event next week. Heroes of my youth. I used to roll my socks down to feel more like Dave Thomas when I played for my school! I see that it has now sold out. Anyone else from on here going? |

I really like the guy. Thought he was excellent yesterday. He does have a bit of pace and he can defend. The article from WLS indicates that he had to be carefully managed for the first half of the season, and may play more regularly for the second half. Always a risk taking on a player that has had a bad injury, but I would sign him based on his performances this season. SU fans tended to rate him highly before his injury. |

I remember a few posters stating his legs had gone at the beginning of the season. Looks like he went and found 'em again. Pleased to see him right at the heart of things and showing his class. Has been a great addition to our squad over the past few seasons. |

Since Kone went back to the very front of the attack he has looked like the player we saw at the start of the season. His hold-up play and physical presence were superb today. He did everything right with that looping header too (it was right in front of us) and that save would not have been made by 8/10 keepers. It seems like being the point of the attack works best for Burrell and Kone. Nice problem to have I suppose. |

Mate, that is some commitment to the team - well done. What a shame about what you actually got to watch! |

I thought he started OK, but disappeared in the second half. But it is probably not a coincidence that none of our wingers are doing very well. We don't seem to have much guile in our offensive structure. I also feel that we have started to slow down the movement of the ball from back to front, which rarely works well for us. Happy to be proved wrong by the data, but that's my perception. |

I was very cautious last night about rushing to judgement with so many injuries and appalling weather conditions, but I thought we could have: 1. Showed better shape and more intention in attacking phases of play. I thought we moved the ball forward in hope more than expectation. 2. Adapted our tactics when it was becoming clearer and clearer they were not working against a very poor team 3. Executed some of the basics more effectively. It was technically one of the worst matches I have ever watched! |

Sincere condolences to all the family. Lovely to hear about his dedication and loyalty over so many seasons. |

I also thought Kolli was great. Looked very much at home at that level. Dunne was outstanding and gave a real captain's performance. Smyth looked lively, but got bundled over every time he got into his stride. They clearly did not like his pace. Special mention to the three young subs who also did well when they came on. |

Lots of good things to take away from last night's performance. One, which struck me this morning, was the degree of fighting spirit shown by the team after the equaliser. In recent years, it has struck me how deflated the team looks after conceding important goals. Shoulder slumped, heads down, etc. Last night it was great to see the determination to get right back at it. Special congratulations for Morgan for putting right his error with a cracking goal. I've been wondering if the knowledge that we do now have goal scorers in the team has ignited a greater degree of hope? Whatever the reason it was great to see. (Was also great to throw the 'who are ya' chants right back in the face of the Brum supporters ;) |

To me, Kolli is a promising young player. He is not the 'real deal' yet, but he has done well enough for a lad who hasn't had a long run of games. I certainly would not write him off at this point. I've seen more than enough to think he could come good over time. He is a Rangers lad, whose level of application is high. The background stuff I treat as 'noise' because the accusations pointed at his attitude are unproven. From what I see, he cares. Let's cut the lad some slack and encourage him. His dad, however frustrated he might be, does need to stop the negative posting. It makes things even more complicated for Rayan. |

I have to say I've noticed how unexcited I get these days when we win a free kick or corner. My expectation levels are on the floor. It's not just how infrequently we score, it's how we create so little threat. I love Illy but his set pieces are rarely a thing of beauty. |

Absolutely riveting series and final game. Two great teams with contrasting strengths giving it their all. Really could have gone either way at several different junctures. Feel sorry for the Jays who must have thought the dream was coming true in that ninth innings. |

Blue Jays ahead and the last two games are back in Canada. Could the surprise be on? What a performance by the rookie pitcher who started the season at a club four divisions below the majors. Amazing stuff by Yesavage! (And what a great name : ) BTW forgot to mention there is a photo of me at Citizens Bank Park wearing an R's shirt that got printed in a Rangers matchday programme! I'll have to dig it out and remind myself what I looked like before I became a silver fox! |

The Phillies are my team. Watched my first ever ball game at Citizen's Bank and fell in love with them. Went and watched them at West Ham last year. I was, however, in Toronto on the night the Blue Jays won the World Series in '93. Absolutely amazing night. The streets were full of people celebrating late into the night. It reminded me of pictures of VE Day. One of the most vivid memories of my life. Was really hopeful the Phillies would do it this year, but was not to be. Hence, I am right behind the Blue Jays. They've gotten off to a good start, so fingers crossed for them. |
