The Frankie Friday Music Thread.....RIP 07:01 - Apr 4 with 2040904 viewsLblock

Here I am starting this from my recovery bed and no clue how to link tunes on an iPhone!

Will stick on my offerings from a PC later unless the other knuckles thread is the preference to use?

House classics and dancey dazzlers only, no hijacking from suicide rock please!

In the beginning there was jack.......

Been meaning to update for years.
Can only be one.......

Not actually on the UR label, but a fine bit of techno for a Friday morning.

Definitely added this to the thread before, but it’s a cracker (and possibly a bit more accessible than a lot of the stuff on the label )

That is quality

I do mate.
But I also like the more subtle stuff some of these guys make. Richie Hawtin for instance.

It did. Obviously there were other tracks around that time that were influential but that one stood out for me. Blew my tiny mind.

Another track that got me hooked .
Hearing that menacing Hoover sound for the first time was incredible. I still get all excited when I hear it. Up there with the 303 acid baseline sound.

Hear that track for the first time for many years the other day. It really was a standout track. Almost Belgian New Beat at the time.

There's a genre we haven't covered much on here.

Got that on the old R&S label

I remember playing that and Insomniak to a young lady at work who was still very much still into the balearic scene and going out.
She looked at me like I was mental.

I ground her down eventually (in more ways than one)... proper loony raver she was.

Stumbled across this earlier today, a new one on me. A real toe tapper!

"Things had started becoming increasingly desperate at Loftus Road but QPR have been handed a massive lifeline and the place has absolutely erupted. it's carnage. It's bedlam. It's 1-1."

The Black Dog are great. From the same era that spawned B12 etc. Proper British Techno. A couple of them went off to form Plaid.

Storming!

Bad news though.... my quest to sample the bacon in every cafe in Ealing has taken a back step tomorrow, no fry up to add to my collection this week.

Instead I may get behind the decks for bacon n Eggs Vol II
