I've never heard any of his stuff, but his name always reminds me of the word Hosiery.

What was my point again....

"The opposite of love, after all, is not hate, but indifference."
Poll: Player of the Year (so far)

Hozier? Oh no - another useless signing - don't touch him with a bargepole.

Redknapp out :>)

You might need to have RTE for this to make sense - he's their darling.

I watched 3 days of RTE over New Year's. Now my bedroom is covered in Hozier posters and I don't even remember buying them.

you will need to look up his music and decide if you like him or not." Take me to church" was a big hit for him (Ellen De Generes had him on her show and it got him lots of exposure).
Personally I really like the guy. Fresh, really good voice, good songwriter. 2 gigs in W12 this weekend pretty much sold out. Recommend all you music types check him out
( that includes you Brian)- should be a good show.

Well worth a youtube visit if you don't know of him - take me to church is excellent and he also does some great covers eg Sweet thing, Van Morrison

Be interested to hear what you think after seeing him live.
To me when I hear Take Me To Church some of the high notes in the chorus sound like he is struggling to get up the stairs and that is his recorded voice. I wonder whether he keeps it in the same key when playing live. Perhaps it's just his vocal style but it sounds like he is straining.

Poll: With no leg room, knees killing me, do I just go now or stay for the 2nd half o?

The above is why I rarely comment on music threads.

If it's not for you, fine, that's why people like different things.

He was great tonight, really showed his range and guitar skills -the audience loved it and I had a great night

What I heard he seemed fine and I'm sure if I was sitting at a show watching him play I'd be more than impressed.

But then again RTE also says I'm one of the 'Difficult Northern Protestants' that Ireland will have to absorb and the next night does a romantic documentary about Mairead Farrell.

So there's rules for one these days and rules for another.

(Probably no place for that here, but still.)

Ian, like Ed Sheeran, he is just incredibly ordinary, to me obviously.
Craig, I would say RTE have got you and your kind (Ulster, Chilean via Venezuelan crossbreeds spot on.)
Doors 7pm.R.O.A.R.
Please drink sensibly. (ie not wearing balaclavas.) (Well, pink ones anyway.)
