Sometimes you see bands from way back when and the voices have gone or they are just going through the motions, but I caught Squeeze at Shepherds Bush Empire a couple of years back and they were really on it. Brilliant songs, new and old.
Last year I caught Glen Tilbrook at a low profile, warmup for a solo acoustic tour of the states, at Uxbridge cricket club and it was a wonderful evening.
Already got my tickets for the RAH but if anyone is hesitating on the above, grab them! |  | | |

Great band, but I last saw them in in '79. Chris Difford is one of my favourite songwriters.
It was funny seeing them on Later with Jools Holland the other week. Two original members, Difford and Tillbrook still with Squeeze and two former members Holland and Lavis in Jool's BIg Band. I don't think Glen Tillbrook really forgave Holland when the latter rejoined Squeeze for a second stint after his career seemed to be on a downer at the time and then upped sticks again to concentrate on his Big Band project. He felt Holland was just using them to bide time before moving on again. Things still looked a little frosty between the two the other night, with Holland seemingly by passing Tillbrook and asking Difford the questions. Would have been nice to see a coming together of the old original band again. A great bunch of musicians. |  |

Still a fantastic live band. Been lucky enough to meet and interview them loads of times and they are both total gents. New album is cracking too. |  |
