They've just spent £20m on Ayew and have plenty of players in that position (Payet, Lanzini). Wouldn't be surprised to see a Prem team make a bid but can't see it being Wham.

Possible. Would only be a squad player though. I'd be very PO'd, but we might not have much choice if someone offers silly money. He's probably our most important player at the moment, so would be a massive blow.

Bare bones.

Vital player for us with, I believe, two years left on contract. I think it would take more than six to tempt us now but by next summer the price would seem good business

I'll be gutted if this happens. Chery would be a big player for us this season.

He's big for us and too small for them to see from the seats at the back.

Have just read the DotOrg thread and before someone said it was facebook b-llocks there were quite a few posters who seemed to think it was perfectly ok to unload him on the grounds we'd be making a profit. Personally I can't see this at all as he's practically the fulcrum of our attack at the moment and losing him would create a void which it would be very difficult to fill. I'm all for us not spending silly money on people but to let a vital part of our team go after making such a great start to the season on Saturday would be very frustrating indeed. (unless his head is so turned by the idea of Premier League football that he's no longer interested in playing for us.)

Whilst I don't want to see him go atm this is a good thing. We're getting back to buying low and selling high. What we need to do is always make sure that we have a conveyor belt of scouted players or youth players who can fill the holes.

We as a club are gonna have to be more like Southampton and get used to losing good players if we are doing things right.

I think this is false based ayew going to the Irons today but realistically we would have to do business for 9M plus but Chery may have a buy out clause lower than that

I think Chery is class in this division but we do now have yeni and washington to feed into the team so it wouldnt be the end of the world and as mentioned above, its a nice change to have players that are wanted by other clubs that we might turn a profit on

Agreed but I think the Wet Spam rumour is social media at its finest, somebody can post anything and it becomes a rumour.

That said there is every chance somebody may make a bid before the deadline but I just hope Les and Jimmy see Chery at this moment in time as "Not for Sale", he's by far and away our most important attacking player in the squad. Loosing him would put us back a long way, there is nobody we have currently in the squad with his skill set to fill that position.

Totally accept we are working towards becoming a selling club aka Southampton but we're just not ready yet to start selling our best player, let's hope we can keep him for another 12 months after which I accept we may have to listen to offers.

Very pleased with the current transfer strategy and it will lead to the club making good profit on some players.

If this was 3 years ago we'd all be cacking ourselves knowing that this had every chance of being true but hopefully we have now moved on from this sort of rubbish

I heard that we just bought the planet Saturn to play on the left wing. Oh and I also heard that we are going to sell Smithie for 27 million to Reading and put a Boeing 747 in goal.

Don't shoot the messenger, its just what I heard.

I don't think his head is turned at all. I think he's very happy here for now.
Him and BFG are clearly good mates on and off the field (along with L-Karate), he knows the team revolves around him, he's settled, he's playing good football. He sees what's going on at Rangers - buying decent players, having a good pre-season, there is more clarity in terms of system/roles etc, we started well on Sunday, plus he has a good relationship with his manager and fellow countryman - it all points towards a positive environment.
He seems a decent grounded bloke and I'm sure none of this is lost on him.
