Loan striker Jay Emmanuel-Thomas has returned to Championship side QPR.
The Gills leading scorer was left out of the side on Tuesday night and will play no more part this season.
It was the decision of Gills head coach Ady Pennock to let him leave.
Despite his goals, fans and management were often left frustrated by his laid-back style.
His last goal was on November 26, in a 3-0 win over Rochdale, and he then went 11 without scoring.
He started in Pennock’s first game in charge but was relegated to the bench before being called upon to start at the weekend. He was withdrawn at the break, however. |  | | |
