well, disappointed to miss Karl's kids as mascots last night, I presumed the normal pubs would have the match on, but no, the golf and, on one second screen, the rugby league took precedent. Not a sport we play on the island, but hey ho.
Eventually found a pub willing to put it on, though it took 10 minutes to work out how. Compensated by a cracking view over the harbour, watched the fishing boats coming in accompanied by really cheap beer.
But what an aural delight the pub was. Jukebox broken, so playing someone's mix, going from hardcore to neil diamond. In front of me the screen and the commentary. To the right, some bloke trying to attract a woman over to the island, "said I'd be effing honest all the way, done time....................right now? we'd be in bed". Irish music session to my left and down the stairs a bit.

Haha, 18 stone I'm just disappointed there aren't the usual accompanying videos, maybe a Jimmy Krankie or the like!😀 I honestly don't know how to put up pictures but son went out with Ned and daughter with Massimo for those interested. Have to say the club were great and kids loved it, had an hour on the pitch with two enthusiastic coaches, Ollie spoke to them and shook their hands, all players had their photos with the kids. Well done to the club!

I had the pleasure of meeting Karl's family yesterday I can confirm that his kids are a credit to him.

In all seriousness it sounds like a great day all round until the ref blew the bloody whistle for the start of the game!
One final thing, regarding uploading photos, you remember when you were a kid and you had to explain to your old man about how to work the video recorder....
