Scoring for fun again. How is it no matter how many players they shed they seem to still be able to share goals all around the team , and find replacements.
Hate to say it but fair play to them and on current form I fear for the upcoming game.

It's being so happy that keeps me going.

They have been managed really well for the last 5/6 years and deserve the current success.

Not how well Brentford are doing no?

They've had some difficult decisions to make - the Warburton situation, appointing and sacking the foreign bloke, appointing Smith and sticking by him during some tricky periods, disbanding the youth set up. Not afraid to buck the trend and with a new stadium to look forward look like a club with a plan but knowing it's going to take time. Don't support them by the way.

Amazing what a committed owner with a sensible plan / approach and daily involvement produces isn't it?

Cherish and enjoy life.... this ain't no dress rehearsal

well we've certainly got the committed owner bit. it's so disappointed that the optimism of 4 weeks ago has petered out.

i'm really concerned that once the parachute payments cease (think next season is our last one) then we're going to struggle to keep within the Profitability and Sustainability rules and stay in this league. diminishing numbers of new supporters for a number of obvious reasons is a real worry. kids need reasons to support teams especially ones that can't fall back on the 'home town club' reason. do locals go to qpr games?

I think next season could be our last viable (long) shot at the big time. Without promotion I can only see perpetual decline thereafter.

ps. sorry for the gloom but went yesterday, hungover and plus missed our goal which might explain it.

Upon my word check out Jota's twinkle toed run and shot utterly destroying our Derby mate Richard Keogh. What a magical wand of a left foot for the fourth

Lickle Bees are in red hot form. The day before St George's day could be a new low for R's ..will they repeat the opening day of the 65/66 season?(i.e. a 5-1 chasing)

http://www.skysports.com/football/brentford-vs-derby/358603

Brentford boss Dean Smith:

"I told them that if any one of them underperformed they'd be dragged straight away because we knew that Derby would come at us. They didn't.

"That was probably the best performance since I've been in charge here, especially given the calibre of the opposition and the form they were in. Our structure was really good and we coped quite comfortably with what they had, but I was pleased when the second goal went in as that calmed us down quite a bit."

We have to be grateful to Matthew Benham as dispite the success we are having and looking forward to a fourth successive season in the championship we still lost 7 million last year despite selling Gray and others. We are a very young side, youngest in the championship and is one of the reasons we are inconsistant and pretty sure there will be bigger clubs hovering at the end of season and I expect them to pick up some of them but we don't sell cheap and up till now we have replaced with better. Not having a pop but you will see next week Rico Henry who replaced Bidwell being an example of this. Some of our fanswanted Dean Smith out only a few months back really looking forward to next Saturday although there is nothing but pride to play for.

Bettering Bidwell is not a tremendously high benchmark, it has to be said.

That is another point apart from Gray and Forshaw most of the players who left us for bigger clubs and the obvious more money have seen their careers stagnate.Bidwell played nearly 200 games for us and could count on one hand the poor ones.Your fans delighted when you signed our captain some even said he was our best player think you should be questioning your coaching staff not the player.

I think Bidwell has done OK for us.

Having said that he looked happier at the beginning of the season with Shodipo in front of him.

My main criticism is that he can get caught out of position.

Also, I think I was expecting him to be more of a leader than he has turned out to be. Sometimes it looks like he has gone into his shell.

What is it that he used to do for you that he hasn't done for us?

He's not too bad defending in the box but I have found him very disappointing on the ball. He looks uncomfortable, his balance and agility isn't great and his passing is poor.

I'm sure I read that he had 9 assists last year so I was hoping for more of an attacking threat. Looked good crossing the ball from deep and playing with Shodipo (as you say) in the Leeds opener but not so much since.

Definitely not a wing back for me, potentially better as the left sided CB in a back 3 if aerial dominance is not required there.

Haven't seen much of him playing for you and was out for a while injured. Was a strange choice to make him our captain as he's not very vocal. He was used to be the start of many of our attacks down the left side when the ball was played out to him from our keeper and had a bit of pace and could deliver a good cross. We have played with attacking full backs for the last 4 seasons and our wide players have to track back to cover them so we don't have the isolation problem.Hes a great lad and couldn't blame him joining you as he had his wages trebled.
