umm interesting!

What does it mean I wonder where it says QPR, amongst 11 clubs, still have the provision to offer the streaming through their own digital providers?? QPR's own digital providers??

I think the club's launching a new official website in the summer, coinciding with the end of the contract with the awful football league generic ones. So I'm guessing the service will be integrated into the new website/new QPRplayer equivalent rather than the centralised "ifollow"

This is pretty commonplace in American sports, glad we're catching up. But wonder if the ubiquity of streams will mean a drop in the attendances of younger fans.

It's obviously a good idea but the 110 quid plus the excellent Match Threads can mean only one thing with regards to this offer.

GEDDAFUGGIN!

£110 over ten months sounds ok to me. It's just over £2 a game.

I follow the Red Sox on MLB.com's streaming service and it's a gift.

Great news. Much, much more Rangers for me next year!

But since QPR hasn't signed the deal, the price could end up being something completely different for us, as I understand it??
Fingers crossed - not much Championship footie on the telly overhere..

There's been a lot of talk recently about clamping down on illegal streaming, if they're going to roll this out they must be confident that they are new legal measures in the pipeline, around ISPs being able to block content maybe.

Wonderful news.
Any chance it's lower as we won't be paying for non QPR games?
Will break my heart if this is available to almost every club except QPR though!

The new QPR official website (which looks really good BTW) comes online in a month or so. The video content on there is going to be free apart from the live matches for which there's going to be the option for fans outside the UK to watch individual matches or subscribe for the season. They haven't agreed a price point with the FL, and it doesn't include games that are on Sky or games that are being shown live by foreign broadcasters (as Bristol City was), and you can't subscribe from a UK bank account but they're working hard to iron these things out.

Also, the iFollow thing the FL are rolling out onto the websites still on their platforms will be a single camera feed with no commentary. QPR are planning a three camera feed with graphics, replays and commentary in the same way they've done pre-season games and U23 matches on YouTube and the official site.

time to dust of the proxy server subscription then. If it's available overseas it's available here with a little subterfuge.

Best news I've heard all day! Saw a few games live this season (the ones on Sky) using an Android TV hooked up to a big screen (I'm in Canada). The quality was variable. I particularly remember the Reading away game where the picture froze just after Manning's delightful ball to Mackie and it took my around 5 mins to realise he'd scored Hopefully this will be decent quality over a fast broadband connection - I'd happily pony up the £110 or whatever it is they will charge.

I've been waiting/hoping for this. I pay almost £100 a year for a BeIn subscription. Cancel that and it's almost a wash, probably better than that if the QPR stream costs less.

Mrs Planethonneywood is currently out of the country and I can just imagine her delight when she discovers this!

We're hosting Mr and Mrs Singapore Dave in August. Both Mrs PH and Mrs Dave in the WhatsApp group set up the visit, we're delighting in posting 'no football and no QPR!'

Imagine the fun as we message to them at 10:22: 'Won 3-0. On way. Order some beers c u in 10''.

Now that we've calmed down; this will need some careful handling.

Does "c u in 10" mean something like 'see you next tuesday'?

not available to people in the uk, according to Northern. Well, that's you effed then, my little non-independent island dwelling friend.

Now, the IOM IS NOT in the UK. We have our own government with our own massive pension deficit, but try telling that to the bastards in duty free. And to QPR, I imagine. It's not fair, I tell you.

Yes it's every game home and away except the ones selected by Sky, or the ones aired by a foreign broadcaster. Based on this season the club reckon about 30 matches would have been available.

I'm sure there'll be some UK based work around on this or, as many have said, moody streams to view. Great on one hand but then there's other aspects which I think make this a bad thing...
Step towards PPV and further dwindling attendances?
Increases in matchday costs?
Away supporters becoming a thing of the past?
An acceleration in my divorce as I'm watching football "every farkin Saturday"?
Huge stress levels due to a lack of QPR downtime????

Interesting stuff though nonetheless

Cherish and enjoy life.... this ain't no dress rehearsal
