Ridiculously, they've let him go after four games. My Palace mate is livid, thinks he should have got more time. Especially as Woy is likely to get it.

Hodgson will be fine there though, as he was at WBA and Fulham. Right size club for him. But undoubtedly FDB should've had more time than four freaking games - crazy.

speaking of crazy, Parrish sounds like he's totally lost it. What is he blathering on about?

"It's a terrible start but we have to stick together.

"People are frustrated, I'm frustrated, so are the management and players. We know we are better than this.

"I'm defending everyone at the club who is working their backside off to turn this around. Football teams lose games. It happens.

"Who has the better squad, us or Burnley? We had a much weaker squad when we finished 11th. The buck stops with me; I've never run away from that."

so, stick together, but sack your manager, the buck stops with you, but sack the manager, defending everyone at the club, but sack the manager and a rhetorical question about who has a better squad.

Hodgson will probably keep them up, though.

Bare bones.

Hodgson will do well but what a farce, bring someone in to change the style of play then sack him after 5 games. I thought they were unlucky yesterday, certainly deserved at least a point

I'm not a fan of Palace tbh, but this is crazy. I watched this game, and I'm not sure how they lost. Sometimes things don't go your way, ( we know all about that ) but you could see that their play was pretty good, barring the end product, but it takes a little time to adapt to a new style of play. Surely Parrish new this when he appointed him.

As usual they say they wanted to bring a man in to change their style but ultimately it's about results. If they genuinely wanted to change the style they should have given him the few seasons it takes to do that. 4 games is mental but then they still play long ball and they can't even score so Woy probably a better option. Shite team though, Dodgy keeper, CB's and no decent strikers after Benteke. Zaha aside they are average.

Firstly, let's look at Palace's managers shall we, going back 30 years...
Alardyce, Pardew, Warnock, Pulis, Holloway, Freedman, Burley, Hart, Warnock, Taylor, Dowie, Kember, Francis, Bruce, Smith, Coppell, Venables, Coppell, Bassett, Coppell, Smith, Coppell, Mullery.

Why on earth might De Boer struggle to implement a Dutch system and style of play in just four matches? I can't for the life of me figure it out.

Secondly, they've done this before. They said after Pulis and Warnock they wanted a more expansive style under Pardew, then when that didn't work they said they wanted a more safety-first, survivalist approach under Allardyce. Then over the summer, all the bullsht about more expansive style again! Then they only give him four matches to get it going.

I thought it was a sht appointment, I'm not surprised it's gone this way, but fck me four games?

It was a bad (or at least very risky) hire, not a bad sacking - especially with the money at stake. People are talking vaguely about "passing style" like they've done any homework on De Boer at all - he's been in a clueless stodgy rut for several years and has the signature non-existent Dutch people skills to go with it.

Always surprised to see Rs fans get on their high horses about giving managers time - we ought to know better than most that sometimes when you know, you know. Imagine us giving Paul Hart til the end of the season...

Did think Palace and Southampton would be kicking themselves for not getting Marco Silva, albeit not this soon.

Marco Silva at Southampton is a brilliant shout. God knows why they didn't see that. They'll struggle with Pellegrino. He's done nothing to justify the support people give him.

Its a mad world isn't it. They must have paid him a minimum of 2 years, plus his staff, although Mr Lee always seems to land on his feet, for doing nothing much more than getting very excited on the touchline.

Never would have happened before the money came along, now what's a couple of million to pay someone off?

I think 2 of their next 3 are v Man City & Utd - good luck to the new man with those!

You're right about us - Ollie wouldn't be here today, if he had lost his first 4 games this season.

Also, there were people on here who genuinely wanted him gone after the reserve game, sorry - meant cup game v Brentford - you know who you are!

Great research...
Wow, that is some list of the most English of English managers (with some Welsh and Irish in there too...).

They are one of a number of clubs who have behaved like they are in the Prem to stay and have started to accrue a wage bill that they will never sustain once they leave the big table. Parrish claiming that their squad is much better than Burnley's is a sure sign of this arrogance.

Just like every single club outside of the top 6, their time will come (sooner rather than later I hope) and if they don't go straight back up (which won't be straightforward when these underperforming big earners decide that they are too good for the Championship) they'll be in the market for a whole heap of more hurt.

Unfortunately, however, Palace are the club who fall into a bucket of manure and come up smelling of roses, as opposed to us, the club that falls into a bucket of tits and come out sucking our thumb...

They are lucky and will probably get out of this, but, my God, they deserve NOTHING after giving up a plan after four games.

Can we go out yet?

The results have been truly awful though. Home losses to H'field and Swansea, with five goals conceded and none scored, and a loss to Burnley. That already spells out relegation in block caps.

I would prefer it to happen to Taxpayers Utd though.

Giving an Ajax school coach an Allardyce squad tasked with changing the style of play then sacking him after 4 games is pretty peak English football.

Actually a bit disappointed as I think Hodgson will sort them out as the squad is not that bad.

The mistake was appointing FdB in the first place as so obviously a bad fit. Bad case of chairman with notions about his own genius.

To be fair, Ollie wasn't great last year though. If he'd have gone after four, people might have been okay with it.

Not the same as getting a big name like FDB and sacking him four games into his Palace career.
