Ages ago and I've been against it since day one. Make the paddocks the family areas (sorry to those sitting there!)

Or the C Club as that's a rather large white elephant!

Dont know why we bother. .... but we do!

About 25 years

Thanks Smeg. Thought it was a while ago. Didn't realise it was as soon as we became all seater!

Just seen a pic of the Lower Loft on a QPR page on Facebook when we played Chelsea in 2011 (THAT 1-0 win). Someone commented how full it was, because it was before the Family Stand!!!

Nothing to do with the fact that it was our first game in the top flight v Chelsea for about 15 years then!!!

I don’t think it was that long ago but it only be enforced in the last 10 or so years. It was quite busy last night because of the half term holidays because normally you get a whole row to yourself for night games.

I was kicked out about 4 years ago & had to be relocated along with 2 others to SA road absolute bollox as you can see the empty seats taken up by imaginary children 😡

Lower Loft and East Paddock should be terracing.

Hate to give my age away but back in the late 60's there was a sort of family area in the Loft. It was about 6 foot of open terracing right at the front and marked by a breeze block wall right along the width of the Loft. The idea was that the boys - never the girls - would get a view. Dads were frowned on and had to take their chances higher up.

Trouble was that when away fans "took" The Loft it was just the right range for the old fashioned penny coins to land on your head so we had to move away as hooliganism took hold. It all seems like prehistory now...

Ah the goal surge, end up miles away from where you started.

Great times and I was a teenager then. Guess that's why I still end up in mosh pits.

I occasionally go back to my old season ticket seat down at the front and the atmosphere compared to when it was a normal stand is palpably inept. (not sure if the last two can be put in a sentence or even make grammatical sense but I'm gonna roll with it)

90/91 R block became the family stand believe it or not as my season ticket was there and had to relocate, I think it stayed there until the Pompey incident. I also have hazy memories of a subbuteo family stand in the upper loft.

It definitely wasn't 25 years ago, it is much more recent. It was implemented about 6 or 7 years ago IIRC. I don't think it works there and this issue has been raised at both of the fans meetings with Lee Hoos that I have attended. It means there are often empty seats behind the goal, especially on weeknights, half terms and so on and it's had a detrimental effect on the atmosphere, as this is an area where singing and chanting used to happen.

As pointed out above, it was in Ellerslie Road before that.

There must be a fans meeting with the club coming up soon.

I bet Clive can't wait for the question of the family stand to be raised again!

I had a season ticket there from about 1992 to 2010. It was known as the family stand for all those years. BUT when my nephew then my daughter stopped going I was still allowed to sit there without a child. I was kicked out about 7 years ago as I didn't have a child with me. Prior to all seating in 92 I believe the family stand was the upper loft as it used to say Panini Stickers Family Stand on the balcony where the scoreboard is now.

Yes we used walk down the front of the loft and then climb over the wall into what was called the school boy enclosure.

That sounds about right timing-wise. It was done when Phil Beard was CEO.
