Some one saying on WATRB that the Supreme court has thrown out the appeal placed against us and Warren Farm is a goer! Good news if true!

I've been monitoring the situation on Twitter and here's an update:
- Hanwell Nature are putting out daily tweets depicting WF as some unique and unspoilt Eden. I have been into wildlife gardening for years and what they are calling "a wildflower meadow" is very low in biodiversity: From what I can see, there are some knapweeds (OK, not very common but by no means endangered), yarrow (very common, in most people's lawns actually) and ragwort (very common, poisonous to livestock).

- A steady stream of Rs fans are tweeting Amit and the club to ask for an update. I can't see any actual replies, although one tweet implied that Amit had said the site was currently waterlogged. If true, that could be a reason for the apparent delay. Could...

- Ealing Lib Dems have come out in support of Hanwell Nature's application for a judicial review due to the site allegedly having been given to QPR without an environmental impact assessment.

The saga rumbles on. Sorry it's not better news. LBlock's what's the "Best before" date on that hat of yours?

"Things had started becoming increasingly desperate at Loftus Road but QPR have been handed a massive lifeline and the place has absolutely erupted. it's carnage. It's bedlam. It's 1-1."

IMO a new training ground is more important than a new stadium. I really hope we get this done!

I just don’t see why they don’t just purchase the old BA Club where the academy are based it’s pretty much ready made just need a few portakabins etc even got 3 bars for supporters to use for functions etc. It’s massive FA standard pitches etc would save money too.

Poll: Now it’s slightly clearer cut who do you want as manager ?

"Purchase".

I guess the main attraction of Warren Farm, and the main problem with it as it turns out, is that the council want to give it us for nothing.

Starting to wonder whether LBlock's hat is big enough for two.

That’s not a bad shout. Looks like Imperial College are moving out in April due to running costs.

I also wonder if a couple of hundred gallons of glyphosate sprayed on WF every now and then might be an idea?

If people would bother to read the planning application, Ealing aren't just trying to hand Warren Farm over to us, the current plan includes

re-provision of community facilities incorporating a single storey community building linked to the indoor hall (shared with QPR), with changing rooms, showers, wc's and social space and up to eleven football pitches, including one artificial pitch, and three cricket wickets.

Which in fact, is a bigger number of pitches than within our training ground part of the site

Ealing would be getting a good deal out of the scheme, it's the Environmental Activists, Dog Walkers, Model Airplane Enthusiasts and NIMBYS that are complaining and trying to devalue a community asset. Where the fact is , Warren Farm had been a sport centre for a long time I played there as a schoolboy, and that is a long, long time ago

As I understand it we'd also be responsible for the maintenance of these facilities.

These owners have been around for, what, 10 years now? Not a single penny spent on any actual infrastructure.

Brentford build a stadium on a relative postage stamp, we only seem interested if it comes with a plot for a thousand houses.

Wonder which set of owners have their club at heart.

Has any site prep been done yet?

Any news on the bond scheme for funding?

Think I've just joined LBlock's corner on this. I'm calling bs, they've shelved it.

Those of you who think we are in a position to start work, I reckon you are sadly mistaken.

We may have signed a Development Agreement with Ealing but I would say they won't actually give us a lease until ALL legal hurdles regarding the propriety of the deal and the planning are cleared.

It is.

To be honest I think this has become such a big negative that it would be best if the club could somehow move on to something else now. Something better.

This is why I say they should look at buying BA club. Sad as was a great venue back in the day. However would represent a cost saving measure rather than purchasing warren farm and then building all the out buildings and pitches etc.

We beat Everton away 3-0 in in 1993, the best I’ve ever seen a QPR team play, bloody superb.

Three day’s later 10 men, unwonable Swindon beat is 1-0 in an inspid(back of the net) Rangers performance.

Warren Farm. I scored an own goal there in 1980 for my primary school team. St Stephens RC, Rylett Road.

If Rangers are serious about funding free community facilities for a local council in return for scrub land, then make an offer elsewhere.

That area where the dry ski slope in Uxbridge has been laying idle for years: is that an option? In fact rolling west along the M40 I’m sure something exists?

As for the stadium: we’ve been moving out of Loftus Road for the last 40 years; and we’ll continue to do so for the next four decades as well. Let’s get one thing done at least, the training ground should be considerably easier than a stadium and is arguably more pressing.
