People have incredibly short memories, but I suppose that Ranieri knows a thing or two about that after getting sacked by Leicester. Gutted for Jokanovic, although he shouldn't struggle to get a decent club. We played some incredible football in the 2nd half of the past two seasons and I think most Fulham fans would have given him more time, even if it ended in relegation. Boo.

One shouldn't be surprised, really. There's very little patience in the game these days. Jokanovic presumably still has plenty of kudos from last season but Fulham have spent a lot of money, still haven't got a decent centre back and don't look equipped to stay up. The manager has to take some of the blame for that.

| And Bowles is onside, Swinburne has come rushing out of his goal , what can Bowles do here , onto the left foot no, on to the right foot
That’s there that’s two, and that’s Bowles

Tony Khan - the owner’s son - is in charge of player analytics, scouting and recruitment. No idea how much say Jokanovic had in such matters. Five of the signings were made on deadline day: Masson was injured and had no pre-season, Joe Bryan has been injured 90% of the time, Chambers looked okay on paper, but had badly struggled etc meaning we’vebeen Chopping and changing every game. Not much pace in the team and the balance in midfield looks iffy. Fair he also out for most of the season to date and the effort from some of the players at Hudd was pathetic. £50m+ spent on Anguissa who has been poor and Seri, who looked great at first, but has now been dropped after one half-hearted display too many. No problem with Ranieri, but Jokanovic deserved more time.

Fulham. on 11:11 - Nov 14 with 4006 views | 2Thomas2Bowles | It's been clear their defense has been abysmal, considering how much they spent and did not sort that out, you have to blame the manager. Can they sort it in the transfer window, a bit of a wait till then and it may be too late anyway.

Fulham. on 11:13 - Nov 14 with 4002 views | rsonist | Jokanovic did great but it did seem like he'd lost the run of himself spending too much too soon. They really had no defensive shape, no off the ball press, nothing by the end there. Contrast with Wolves who also went up full of attacking talent but have become tight as a drum this season. Edit - even if he didn't choose his players (good ones by all accounts tbf) he certainly wasn't getting through to them... [Post edited 14 Nov 2018 11:16]

Steve - this is from Konk's post: "Tony Khan - the owner’s son - is in charge of player analytics, scouting and recruitment." I think Mawson has been injured as well - not too helpful! [Post edited 14 Nov 2018 11:21]

Fulham. on 11:31 - Nov 14 with 3922 views | TacticalR | Konk, what's your diagnosis of the problem? I haven't watched much of the Premiership this season, but I listen to various football podcasts, and the pundits are saying things like 'too much nice football', which I took to mean that playing it out from the back was too dangerous. Or maybe that nice football wasn't for the likes of Fulham.

Fulham. on 11:54 - Nov 14 with 3872 views | Toast_R | They've been dross and lost 6 in a row, losing against teams they're in a relegation scrap with. He had to go. Like QPR, should have kept faith with the team that got them promoted rather than making lots of signings. Reading Konk's comments, the classic Harry Redknapp policy of signing unfit players and wondering why the whole team is so sh*t.

A whole load of stuff! Our midfield trio of McDonald, Cairney and Johansen were outstanding at that level, but there was a worry that McDonald might be too slow for the PL, and that Johansen might not have enough to be a regular starter in a team that would do anything but struggle. On top of that, Cairney has missed most of the season. In defence, we lost Fredericks, who with his pace was often the player responsible for transitioning from defence to attack. At Left-back, we lost Matty Targett, who'd been on loan, after Saints played silly buggers and wanted something like £16m for him. At CB, we signed Mawson, who'd done well at Swansea, but was carrying an injury, so had no pre-season, and Chambers, who looked to be a reasonable signing. Mawson has barely played, whilst Chambers has had an error-strewn start and been dropped. Joe Bryan has been injured at LB, so we've either had Ryan Sessegnon filling in, when he's better forward, or Le Marchand, who's also made a few costly unforced errors. Ream was actually our player of the season last year, but we're yet to see whether he can be relied upon in the PL and Odoi isn't up to it at this level. In midfield, the balance is all wrong, not much protection for the defence and a lack of real pace means we're not breaking at pace and stretching teams. In short, we're a bit of a mess. However, if we have a fit Mawson and Bryan, I think that could steady things and a fully fit Cairney would also be a real bonus. Most of all, we need the players to pick themselves up and start applying themselves properly rather than sulking.

Unlike QPR he Said they had to buy players in summer to make a squad but paid too much money for them. Have a soft spot for them and hope they stay up

Christ, it sounds like one of our promoted sides. I don't get this stuff whereby someone other than the manager chooses the signings and I don't think any manager worth having would stand for it. In our case, Holloway let them do that to him but it seems McClaren wasn't so accommodating and we're on the up for a change. Ranieri will most likely rattle that cage and, given some of the dross that end of the table, 30 points from your remaining 26 games could be achievable.

Gutted for Slav - his side produced some stunning football, loads of goals and our first ever win at Wembley, after a wait of 43 years to return. The fact that I got to watch Fulham win at Wembley with my son, means that he'll always be a legend for me. Top man.

When Jokanovic's Fulham side were in the Championship I don't think I've ever seen a team play out from the back but starting from so deep. This season it sounds like too many changes have been made in one go and the whole thing's gone KerPlunk. People are condemning Fulham for spending £100 million but: 1. Other established teams have spent a lot more. In fact £100 million is a drop in the ocean for them. Liverpool and Chelsea have spent approaching that sort of sum just on goalkeepers (£67 million for the Roma keeper and £71 million for the Athletic Bilbao keeper). 2. If you are a club that's just been promoted then spending £100 million isn't going to get you what £100 million would get an established Premiership team.

Despite it being shown numerous times that its not all about the money you spend - Leicester, Bournemouth, Watford, Burnley, Huddersfield, Us! - to name but a few - owners still think throwing money at a team should guarantee success.
