David Wagner gone 18:18 - Jan 14 with 3780 views | CamberleyR | Mutual consent. Sadly Huddersfield another team that after one successful season seem to have been sucked into the short termism that staying in the Premier League is the be all and end all. https://www.bbc.co.uk/sport/football/46864005 [Post edited 14 Jan 2019 18:24]

David Wagner gone on 18:23 - Jan 14 with 3741 views | Fearless | Manager David Wagner has parted company with Huddersfield Town by mutual consent. It is understood that Wagner informed the club he would be leaving at the end of the season and, following talks with the board, the decision was reluctantly taken to part ways today.

They must've had a Hart to Hart. It's what Wagner's are famous for.
David Wagner gone on 18:45 - Jan 14 with 3656 views | paulparker | Don’t blame him really he hasn’t been able to spend money like the other teams and he has done wonders to get them where they are considering the players available to himit will be Interesting to see where he goes next as he is a brilliant coach
| And Bowles is onside, Swinburne has come rushing out of his goal , what can Bowles do here , onto the left foot no, on to the right foot
That’s there that’s two, and that’s Bowles

David Wagner gone on 20:50 - Jan 14 with 3256 views | rsonist | If it's mutual consent then how have they been sucked into short termism...? I don't know, every time a departure like this happens (Ranieri, Jokanovic) I seem to find myself in a small minority that isn't absolutely appalled. Of course it's a massively sad, sentimental situation and his achievements there were staggering - he'll always be a legend there. But he really was out of ideas at this point. The squad just wasn't responding and quite frankly they were already down. He was cutting such a forlorn defeated figure in interviews. They're 8 points away, they still have a chance, and if you have a chance then the sheer money and disparity between the leagues means that is a non-trivial factor. Look at how Hassenhuttl has transformed Soton. People will probably bring up Burnley coming up down and back with Dyche as an example of holding nerve and being successful. But IMO that's like Fergie at United - extremely rare (solitary in fact) exceptions to the rule that buck the overwhelming trend of how that usually turns out. Good luck to him anyway.

rare because no one gets the chance. Curbishley also did it to great effect 20yrs ago. We shouldve done the same with Warnock.

David Wagner gone on 01:29 - Jan 15 with 2912 views | Jigsore | by his own admission Wagner wants a break and probably doesn't believe he can do the job to keep them up. Huddersfield have done incredibly well to get promoted with the squad they had and even better to stay up. But Wagner has spent about £50m in his time at the club, it's not peanuts. I do think the team he's assembled is capable of more but he's just run out of ideas with what to do with them. Their attack is more impotent than the man who survived both the Nagasaki and Hiroshima bombs. It's a mutual agreement and from Huddersfields point of view it's probably worth trying to find someone who can give them that new manager bounce.

Excellent post.Without goals I don't care who is the Manager its useless in any division.Nobody in that group mentioned can save them from the drop without goal poachers to bang them in.
