A multi-cultural shitehole

We saw only a few days ago what can happen when online extremist bile like this is left to fester unchallenged.

Just out of interest, why would you live somewhere that you think is ‘a multi-cultural shitehole’? And what’s wrong with multi-culturalism?

Can’t help but think back to this: https://blogs.spectator.co.uk/2019/03/watch-will-self-and-mark-francois-bust-up-

Just leave. To do otherwise will destroy centuries of democratic practice. We’ll still trade with you as I’m sure will all the commonwealth countries and the yanks and (although they won’t admit it) so will Europe.

Australia is one of the most stable and peaceful democracies in the world because of the UK and the Westminster system of government established here. It’s sad watching your country tear itself apart from the other side of the world when you’ve always been that beacon of hope and fairness.

Stop the bleeding and get it over with before the rifts get too wide to ever mend.

Yeah let’s keep democracy in tact by ignoring parliament.

I’ll chuck some more straws in the air. Clutch what you can.

I don't know much about their economies but I guess Brexit uncertainty isn't helping them either. Once we've gone the cost of running the EU will reduce as well because there will be fewer MEPs and no money going to the UK so the shortfall will not be as large as our contribution, not that it will be small either it just won't be as simple as dividing it up.

I'd agree with that, except that there are at least three more countries lining up to join the EU, none of whom are likely to be net contributors.

When you are the PM that does not want to leave the EU, take a deal to Parliament you know will get rejected

The whole thing is a scam cooked up by May and the EU hoping they can get another Referendum as they did with Irland.

So now the Speaker has prevented May's deal from being voted upon “without significant changes”
I'm beginning to believe the conspiracy theorists that say MPs and the establishment were never going to allow Brexit to take place.

It's interesting that he should come up with this now with the rumours that the deal has a chance however slight of winning. They won't be making the same mistake as they did with the referendum

To be fair there were hints he was going to do this last week before May went around negotiating with the DUP to vote for her deal.

The Speaker doesn't make the rules, he follows long established procedure.

Of course, if you think that there shouldn't be another refererendum on the basis that the question has already been asked and answered then you should apply the same rationale to parliamentary votes.

She probably called up Bercow to do it knowing she would lose another vote.

It amazes me people think they can trust any Mp.

Oh, what a tangled web we weave, when first we practice to deceive!

May is a remainer, anything after that is bolx. smoke and mirrors.

Maybe Bercow is just doing his job to not allow May to ignore a 400-year-old statute and it’s not part of some great conspiracy to stop us chopping our own hands off.

The conspiracy is mostly plain to see, 500 odd Mp's conspiring to go against the referendum result.

Mays deal or as it should be called the EUs deal is now off the table. The EU will not negotiate anything more unless they get concessions. No MP hopefully will vote to reduce the soveignty of parliament by taking orders from Brussels without being able to influence those orders so we stay.

You may wish to rephrase that from ( no MP...) as would be read in 2 ways.

Much like Mp's talk.

You are right really
MP's voted against Mays deal only it's the only deal the EU dictates to us making it their deal, so at that point, we should have said ok we are out on the 29th with no deal.

But the conspiracy then came on again by Mp's voting we can't leave without a deal.

To ignore the people
History tells us in France and Russia that lead to the fall of sovereignty and an English King lost his head, but maybe you have never read history and just want to hand sovereignty over to the EU.

There is no greater threat to parliamentary sovereignty than the EU.

Yeah I give up.

I’d rather give sovereignty to “the EU” (we are part of the bloody thing) than allow the utter morons that make up this country to have a direct say on something this important again. You’ve been brainwashed into believing ‘they’ are the enemy. It’s pointless.

They used to say that the problem with democracy is that the people at the top buy off enoughpeople in the middle to form a majority against the people at the bottom. Obviously a referendum is different. I've often thought that the referendum result was a result of people voting against the establishment to get their own back rather than a vote against the EU.

I think it was in part but also and maybe more importantly, a vote that actually counted . could be heard.

Most peoples single vote counts for very little when it comes to a GE

How do you think these people will be if we don't leave and things don't improve or get worse, if they had a deep distrust in the government and the EU then that feeling will only grow.

The negotiation with the EU is pretty one sided, rather than being a conspiracy have you considered that it's the result of 27 countries negotiating as one against a single country? Could be a factor.

Also you may remember the leave campaign making claims about it being an easy deal to make, them needing us more than we need them. What part of those well worn phrases suggest that there's a mandate to leave with no deal.

It's a conspiracy I tells ya!
