Our country is fckd match thread on 11:24 - Mar 25 by kropotkin41 | Here's an idea: Single Transferable Vote referendum. We all get a vote on 1 of 4 options, more or less: 1. No deal Leave immediately. Sort out relations with the EU and the rest of the world after. 2. May's deal as it stands 3. Something around the Labour/Norway+/Customs Union and Single Market option 4. Revoke Article 50 stay, and play our full part in the EU as it stands....... hopefully helping to reform it. I'd be happy with that. How could any group really complain? Straight away after the new referendum there could even be a temporary Government of National Unity just to see necessary legislation through. I want to emphasise that I am not a fan of referendums, or Governments, or politicians, or nationalism, or of very much at all except Anarchist Communism and ecology, but this is silly now, an STV referendum would perhaps allow us all to get on with our lives. Edit. It occurs to me that not everyone will be sad enough to know that under STV you order your preferences and if your first or whichever option doesn't win your vote gets transferred to the next. From what i understand Referendums can only offer two choices.

Leavers are the 'We's'. Imagine the Democrats all being shipped over here, they could join up with our Lefties and moan about everything, they'll be as happy as larry. Meanwhile, the Leavers and those a bit right of centre can all go and live with Uncle Donald, think positive thoughts, have no one accusing us of being thick or impeaching us for thinking differently and generally build a peaceful life for ourselves. The stumbling block for most, of course, would be dear old QPR. But I reckon if we put it to Trump that if we come over we need a stadium, he'd be well keen to 'build a wall, oh yes' and Uncle Tone could tell the Lefties at Hammersmith Town Hall to fck right off. That's my manifesto then. Lefties and moaners united together in the UK, the rest of us off to the good old US of A. With QPR.

On a side note, I clearly remember around the referendum TV news reports of immigrants now settled from many countries saying too many people were coming here and the UK should be in charge of it's borders and were or going to vote to leave. |

I have actually suggested the same. But this German comedy site has come up with a better idea - all the other 27 countries leave the EU and set up a new alliance, leaving the UK as the sole remaining member! (Apologies for any errors caused by Google Translate - the original is here, with a useful graphic illustration: https://www.der-postillon.com/2019/01/europaeische-allianz.html?m=1) "Because it's so simple: All countries except Great Britain are leaving the EU and forming a new alliance Brussels, London (dpo) - Just like that! Because Britain is apparently unable to complete its two-year planned withdrawal from the European Union, the other Member States have now decided to take a different, more straightforward path: they want to carry out a so-called EUxit. And this is how the EUxit works: Just in time for the Brexit date of 29 March 2019, all EU members except Great Britain will leave the EU completely and then found a new confederation of states. The EU will then only consist of Great Britain. The other states form the European Alliance (EA), which will function exactly the same as the EU except for the new name. "This hiccup paralyzes our institutions and must finally come to an end," justifies European Commission President and designated European Commission President Jean-Claude Juncker the drastic measure. "And if that's the only way to make a clean cut, then we'll do it that way." He promised, however, that the EA would strive to maintain good relations with the EU. Should the British still want to leave the EU after EUxit as the only remaining EU state, this should not be a major hurdle. After all, they could then negotiate with themselves extremely favorable exit conditions, without having to expect resistance from Brussels."

Ha, that's great, I like that. As you know, all said in jest, but been thinking about it and as far as the UK goes, it's not religion or racism that is the real divisive issue, it's politics and despite the Brexit issue, always actually has been. If your politics are different that chasm will always remain, don't think there is anything anyone can do about it. Impossible task but I sense that if what I suggested was in any way feasible we'd all, left and right, be a whole lot happier.

How’s long before 1 group of righties thought that the righties in power weren’t right enough for them,or were too right for others? Same with the lefties and their countries. The only way forward is to all get along TOGETHER in the world we all reside in.Accept that people may have a different view to you but that doesn’t make it wrong. It just makes it different.
Our country is fckd match thread on 10:58 - Mar 26 with 1635 views | runningman75 | I have the feeling Brexit is going to be the biggest red herring of the century. Whilst i voted remain holding my nose I do understand the concerns of leavers. I have an 18 years old daughter who will be unlikely to get on the London housing ladder. I regularly travel around London and have not seen a mass exodus of European workers from London. People were concerned about immigration and their concerns have not been addressed.

Our country is fckd match thread on 13:12 - Mar 26 with 1478 views | TacticalR | I came across this the other day from our former man in Uzbekistan: 'Brexit continues to dominate mainstream political discussion, and the Northern Ireland border issue remains at the centre of current negotiations, forced there by the London government's reneging on the agreement it signed almost a year ago. But there is a secret here, hidden in plain sight, the glaring fact driving the entire process, but which the media somehow never mention. For the Tory right, the destruction of the Anglo-Irish Agreement is a major goal to be achieved through Brexit. In this, they are in secret communion with their friends in the DUP. Consider the 58-page paper by one Michael Gove, entitled The Price of Peace, published in 2000 by the Tories' leading "think tank" the Centre for Policy Studies. Gove argues the provisions of the Good Friday Agreement and the Anglo-Irish Agreement should be annulled.' The Price of Peace https://www.craigmurray.org.uk/archives/2018/11/the-price-of-peace/ (After Murray drew attention to the document it was hastily removed from the Centre for Policy Studies website, but fortunately Murray had downloaded a copy and has made it available on his website).
