Except those are NOT the facts.

It's not £345M a week as that is only the gross amount t and ignores all the funds and rebates we get back.

Plus you make the assumption that we just give it away for nothing which is also grossly incorrect. And if you are one of those who thinks that the EU do nothing for us then I assume you think the Monty Python sketch "what the Romans did for us" is a documentary? Because it's that level of farce.

I’m getting pretty f@cked off with the level of insults being thrown about by remainers on this thread. This will be my last post on this thread because of this.
I don’t resort to insulting or belittling someone with a different view to me,but that obviously doesn’t apply to others on here.

Not once did I say that the EU doesn’t do anything for the money we pay them. What I do think is that if 170 other countries quite happily thrive in the world by not being tied to the apron strings of the EU,then I’ll be happy to make it 171.

The last 3 years should have been spent arranging the trade deals that we will need to go forward in the future, but we weren’t allowed to because of EU rules and an incompetent government.

No point doing a round robin on this, everything I've said before still stands from a PM who never wanted to leave and came back with a Not leaving deal to 500 mp's, trying to shaft the majority by not leaving with every dirty trick in the book.

The EU is corrupt but so are the majority of our MP's, we need to get rid of both.

This is really indefensible. All it is saying is that you can leave but you cannot plan your future after you leave until you actually leave. Article 50 once invoked should have set a hard date to leave and during that time we should have been allowed to negotiate deals with the world including the EU. Why are the EU so frightened of anybody leaving that they put barriers in the way.

I guess you will be voting in a GE for the same old same old.

You can't bring about change unless you vote for it but clearly you think all is well in your world and don't want change.

I’d probably vote Lib Dem but my constituency is so blue even this car crash government would do well to lose it.

I certainly won’t be voting for the policy-free “we want our Bwexit now” throwing their toys out the pram baby boomer illogical gammonites, if that’s what you’re referring to as the “change”. I’d rather chip in a tenner to buy everyone a crate of Carlsberg if that would shut them up and let the adults who have an intention of doing something more than shout from the sidelines get on with it.

The most dissapointing aspect of this thread is the piss poor imagination of the constant stream of insults from Remain voters on here.

A broken fu ckin pezz dispenser planted in a motile dog turd in the Dr white jam wrag strewn gutter could do better.

Step it up lads, think outside the box, at least suggest the compulsory injection of phenobarbital mixed with apple sauce directly into the heart of 'Gammonites' who won't do as they are told.

Are you saying that MEPs should not be entitled to a pension, to which they have made contributions? Whilst you may argue that they are excessive - and I would agree with you they are, just like MPs pensions are - at least the pension has been earnt by working as an MEP. What exactly has Heseltine done to "earn" his £90k per year subsidies?

I’m not an expert but from what I’ve seen, Heseltine is entitled to subsidies as a UK farmer within the EU.

Not much different to Farage except Heseltine doesn’t moan and bitch about the EU while happily taking its money.

‘Constant steam of insults from Remain voters’

Bit strong. Just looked through the last few pages of this thread and can’t find one insult from remain or leave. Mostly a fair discussion between two groups with deeply entrenched views.

Yes it would be insulting if it was true... but it's not...

https://www.google.com/amp/s/www.bbc.co.uk/news/amp/uk-46949431

What has annoyed me about this debate is a bunch of lies and half truths (and there have a been a lot) put forward by the Brexit politicians as if they are true, and perhaps more importantly why the hell hasn't the remain camp corrected them? The bus is a key example of this. Why wasnt an I junction taken out about that slogan? Or the billboard about Turkey joining the EU?

A key part of the problem was the pathetic remain campaign run by Cameron and Osbourne.

I think most leave voters understood the question very clearly IN or OUT, nothing to do with what he said she said.

They no longer wanted to be part of an ever-growing controlling federal state.

It's no different than countries that did not want to be ruled by the Romans or Russia.

The EU Has over the last 3 years shown that they still want to be in control and making it as difficult as possible hoping we will change our minds. you have to ask yourself why and the answer is for their benefit, they could not give a shite for the citizens of the UK, just money.

Back on the round robin...

So you are saying any country in the EU having invoked article 50 can sign deals with any other country. If so then there is no such thing as a no deal Brexit as all deals would be settled by the day we left. So all this talk about a no deal is our own government sabotaging the process with the rest of the world. We cannot sign a deal with the EU as they demanded the withdrawal agreement be settled first I wonder why.

Article 50 did set a date to Leave, 2 years after it was invoked. 1 proviso though, the country leaving can request an extension and the EU can agree, provided all nations agreed.
A50, para 3 also says that on the leaving date "all treaties shall cease to apply". The UK wasn't ready on March 29, April 12 and probably wont be ready on Oct 31.

Although it is the default position, leaving without a deal would be a catastrophe for the UK.. because of that clause in A50.

The simple fact is we have a deal, its called WTO!

once we leave, i'm afraid i am with Farage on this, they will be knocking down our door to make deals as they will realise they played poker, and in the end, Mother Theresa aside, we will have won the overall battle.

Europe will have to do a deal with us, simple. plus we will be free to do deals with any other country we want.

I'm not saying he isn't entitled to farm subsidies. What I'm saying is that he has a vested personal interest in remaining in the EU so those subsidies continue. As for moaning and bitching, he is doing plenty of that about the possibility of leaving the EU.

We were not ready because the EU insisted the withdrawal agreement be verified before any talks on further trade arrangements. That our government agreed to that is unbelievable. Brussels knew then they had the upper hand. Why Brussels insisted on the withdrawal agreement before trade discussions I leave to others to explain but they could not believe their luck when we agreed to it.
