I think he would be a very good appointment. He has done well pretty much everywhere he has gone. He knows the league and knows us a club. If Pompey don't go up we should be all over this.

Thoughts?

Tough sell for him even if Pompey don't go up this season. Has the opportunity and means to really build something there.

Give him six months and then f..k him off!

That’s what we usually do.

i lost a lot of respect for him for how he acted at rotherham... really gutless stuff, and not the type of character you want at the helm when you're going to be in the sh*tstorm we'll be next year without wells, cameron, freeman, etc and a glut of young pros

Why would he want to leave Pompey to come here. Whether they go up or not this season, he will want to take them on and wtf not; they are absolutely going places, on the crest of a wave, now followed by a loyal set of fans who are reaping rewards.

I'd imagine it's a lot more fun supporting and managing Pompey than it is our lot right noe.

So, I ask again, WHY would he want to come here?

Can we go out yet?

He'd need his head looking at for coming here. For some reason I hadn't got him down as being very successful. But he done some good things, looking at his stats.

Jackett is tailor made.

Not really. I don't like him. Don't know why. I think it's because he reminds me of an uncle whose missus is playing about and he knows full well it's going on but is too scared to leave.

This means he'll probably do a good job.

No problems with Kenny, did well with us before, a lot to like about him. I've seen us linked with a few managers i actually quite like, plus a couple i don't.

If we are not a bigger pull as Portsmouth as a club then that really does say it all then really doesn't it?

Well for one, we have got a bigger shopping centre than the one in Pompey.

Then there's ....erm....uh .....

I think Jackett would be the best choice but can't see him coming as he would bring Joe Gallen with him which may upset/embarrass some after the way Steve Gallen was treated.

Kenny's brother Alan was also working in the Academy a few years ago and I'm not sure how that ended either. There was a bit of a cull and ruthless changing of the guard down at Harlington a few years ago which seems to have caused divides, leaving a bad taste in the mouth for some.

Joe would jump at the chance as he could get to the Bush Empire / Hammy Odeon on a regular basis.

In years gone by, I've argued for the return of Kenny Jackett.

The difference is that then he was available. Very much doubt we could prise him away from Pompey now.

Not in the least surprised he's been successful there, apart from that one aberration he's had a pretty distinguished career.

the last few managers all had more than 6 months.

McClaren - 11 months
Holloway - 18 months
JFH - 11 months
Ramsey - 9 months
Redknapp - 2 years 3 months
Hughes - 9 months
Warnock - 1 year 11 months

Interesting as just before we played them in the cup I had a look round their message boards/Twitter and lots wanted him gone. Saying the football was dull, he didnt have a clue and he was taking them out the play-offs. He has turned it round.

I just had a look and either side of us playing them (and including our games) he had 1 win in 11. Get him in, he sounds an ideal fit :)
