He has a good point though. That is ridiculous. (1) It's an acronym that only a few thousand people at most in the US will understand (2) It just refers to a football club's shirts and (3) We're Fulham, we've just been relegated, we've never won a trophy etc, so stop being cu nts and give the man his number plate. Come on you whites is hardly, "The South will rise again" or something when it comes to a rallying war cry for White Supremacists. He'll definitely win his case. I believe in him. Biggest miscarriage of justice since Deirdre Barlow went inside. That said, FFS COYW would work better this year.

Of I course I would never allege that and Terry isn't a racist either or so, I am told. zzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzz

I think your point 1 also needs adding, that few will get the SPECIFIC connotation, so it could get misconstrued. And that is probably where the problem comes from?

You’re an average American driving in suburban LA, see a number plate reading COYW and figure it must stand for ‘Come on you whites’, which you assume must be some sort of white supremacist slogan? Bit unlikely, isn’t it? If someone gets what COYW means, doesn’t it follow that they will surely know it’s a harmless reference to the colour of Fulham’s shirts.

No, most people would think they were Leeds fans. Or Port Vale.
Oh dear, Konk on 16:09 - Apr 10 with 2016 views | Esox_Lucius | Why isn't the rallying call "Come On You Cottagers"? That is traditionally FFC's nickname.

Interesting debate. Which is more socially unacceptable these days, cottaging or white supremacy?
