Excellent report. As a defender, you also have to be a very good footballer to play the ball around at the back. Certainly we don't have the players to be able to do that and on Saturday's evidence neither do Swansea, particularly when the opposition closes them down quickly as we did to them. In my view the way we played on Saturday - with the players we currently have - is the way we have to play every week. It requires hard work and commitment but that is surely the minimum we should expect from professional players but something that has been less than evident for many weeks previously.

Said after the Bolton game that I had spotted marginal improvements in Hemed and posted that I agreed with another poster 'a bit better and looking a bit slimmer around the 'hips''.

Not seen on the pitch since, well he must have used the intervening couple of weeks training hard and getting fitter and reducing that backside even more. This time he managed to multiply that marginal improvement several times and was unfortunate not too get the hat-rick his performance deserved and the mom that probably would have secured.

About time too, you may say and I couldn't agree more. Just hope he can rest up and recover well and give us more of the same on Friday. He currently looks the only player in the squad who can give that lone striker performance which allows us to pack our midfield with our best talents and give the defence the extra help they require.

Unlike most of our fans I didn't like Rangel taking the law into his own hands. I didn't think it was a foul on BOS, it wasn't a head injury, the referee didn't stop the game and why should Swansea kick it out? I would have been unhappy if we had kicked it out in that situation, especially if we were losing 3-0. I thought Rangel 'lost his head' and that Mr Madley was very calm and managed to get control and prevent it escalating into a match with red cards.

As for Swansea they were poor but we made them poor. I thought Routledge put in a decent effort, especially in the second half and was easily their best player.

Well I enjoyed his passion, particularly after calling them out for a no show at Norwich, but I agree the game shouldn't have been stopped and I'd have wanted QPR to play on in the same circs.

I thought it was calculated piece of theatre on his part. An experienced player firing up the crowd. Not a bad thing provided it is only that. He quickly reverted to type afterwards which suggests it was.

Exactly this. He went over the top enough to get everyone's blood up in the crowd and in a hooped shirt but not enough to get more than a yellow.

Earlier in the year we talked of the dark arts, gamesmanship and QPR's lack of nouce. Well this is what Derry or Hill would have done. This is part of the dark arts and I, for one, loved it.

Also, keep your eye on James after Rangel has smashed him. I think about five other QPR players go and bash into him as well. Definitely a deliberate ploy to kick him out of the game.

The Rangel thing was interesting.
I thought it was definitely a foul, and lesser challenges in the game were given as free kicks. I then thought Swansea absolutely were ok to play on. I think what Rangel was angry about was that they weren't on the break, they were mostly in their own half, we had players back. There was no 'advantage' and they were just sort of kicking it slowly to each other - at that point, they should've kicked it out, because what else were they going to do? My point is - had they got the ball and sprung forward and been on the attack - absolutely, just play on. But they weren't. They were doing nothing - the difference between what they were doing and having us kick it back to them after treatment to BOS was negligible.

Bare bones.

He was definitely targeted but here I think it's cos he got up and pushed Rangel, so in retaliation Scowen and Manning gave him a shove, then Freeman barged him on the way past straight into Leistner who also fcked him off.

I agree with the above, more of this, please. Not to be stupid, etc but look after your own and back up your teammates.

Also when you look, the player on the right-hand side gets the ball and almost stops himself, not sure what to do he gives it to the man inside who promptly gets his head down and pings a pass into James. So it was almost expected that play had stopped (or would be) and then they played on, I think that's what gave everyone the hump.

I agree that it didn't NEED to be stopped, but I like the attitude of Rangel and the players in looking after one of their young lads and being willing to kick off for him.

Wonder if law change for 19/20 is going to stop this malarkey or not?

New law is that drop balls will just be given to player who had the ball when play stopped and then they just play on - SHOULD speed things up.

The head injury and kicking the ball out are not in the laws - referee stops play if in his opinion a player is seriously injured is all the laws say.
