A good Read - Let Me Talk by Kevin De Bruyne 15:40 - Apr 16 with 2411 viewsToast_R

I found this quite an insightful read, good little bit about Raheem Sterling too.

What a brilliant read.

I expect the usual suspects will dismiss because of the word Chelsea in the article or the fact that he earns squillions, but I found it really moving.

That is a great article thanks for the link. Its impossible to imagine looking at him now that Jose abandoned him at Chelsea but it shows the power of perseverance and desire that he came this far.Of course having the talent helps.
No matter where everybody on our forum stands on City its hard not to cheer for KBD with the style of play he brings every game.I watched the game against Crystal Palace on tv last year and that tackle from behind could have been devastating but he came back stronger thankfully.
The injuries are becoming a more of an issue as time goes on so as screwed up as players salaries are that money has to last long after their playing days end .

"What I think most fans don’t realize is that when you’re out of favor at a club, you don’t get nearly the same attention during training. At some clubs, it’s like you don’t exist anymore.

If it happened to me now, it wouldn’t be a problem. I know enough to be able to train on my own and take care of myself. But when you’re 21, you don’t understand what it takes. When I got another chance to play, against Swindon Town in the Cup, I wasn’t in good shape. And then that was pretty much it for me."

How fckin spot on is that with the Redknapp league cup games and McClaren against Blackpool. You can't have players just brought in suddenly and expect them to perform, particularly at that age.

Yes, it's an interesting insight.

In theory I have no problem with big team changes for cup games - all clubs have massive squads, I want to see them used, 1st teamers get a rest, up-and-coming and fringe players get a chance to show what they can do: it should all be good.

In practice you tend to get a shambles of players who aren't familiar with each other, don't seem to know the game plan or where they should play, aren't match fit etc. Not just the managers you mention either, Holloway was just as bad and it is rife another clubs too.

A player like that leaves Chelsea for around 1 million and we were spending 10 mill on Granero. Fantastic piece of business.

Wolfsburg signed him for around £18 million quid from Chelsea to be fair to us!

Apologies I thought he went for a million. I just googled and you're right.

I only really remember it because I wanted to mock a Chelsea 'supporting' colleague about it once and was disappointed to discover they made a reasonable profit on him. Still, its hilarious they ditched him, Salah and Lukaku. So there is always that to laugh about
