Very good as always Clive. Lovely bunch of lads, decent types, the right types... Not really up to it because they can't concentrate consistently. Even Pep Guardiola would struggle to get a tune out of them. We go on about managers but the players have to take some responsibility. Although for me the sitting back and playing generally on the counter attack as we have this season is clearly a bollox tactic.
People (like me) are not renewing because essentially to support a football team you have to play attractive attacking football with some flare, occasionally, or often enough to make it entertaining. This team has lacked a playing style for years and much as West Ham fans bang on about the West Ham way and Man Utd too we are much the same in that we have always been at our best on the front foot, taking games to the opposition. We've done it so rarely since Warnock left and the biggest problem is we have lost our playing identity. That's why people aren't renewing. It's shapeless, widthless and predictably boring. Don't blame managers, blame the people higher up. There is no point in bigger grounds and all this stuff if you can't get the product on the pitch right. It's been wrong, let's face it, for years. |  |

Despite my moans I will almost certainly renew my season ticket but do so with very little sense of optimism about the forthcoming season. None of us know who the appalling recruitment collective will select as our next manager, nor do we know how many of the current playing staff will be retained, nor which of our players will be the subject of 'acceptable' transfer bids, nor what sort of limited budget will be made available for new 'hungry young players from the lower divisions'.
With all that in mind, I spent some time yesterday looking at those players who will probably be here in August and became even more depressed. One of the worse cases of falling from grace for me has been Joe Lumley. Having seen him in the U23's and on loan appearances in the past I was a strong advocate for his promotion after Smithies left for Cardiff. Having got his chance after Ingram's poor start to the season, he did well but started to look more of a 'lucky' keeper than a good one. Now he looks neither lucky nor good. People say he's young and inexperienced but he is 24 now and with around 80 football league games under his belt so I'm not convinced that he will improve and I believe we will need a very good goalie next season if we are to stay in the Championship. |  | | |

we need a long term manager, given time to fail/succeed and build a squad that can win consistently and develop the youth, would the board settle for that?
managers have a life expectancy in the job of 6 months? it wasn't that way until the cash got so big, now it's wrong to keep a manger or so it seems.
as for renewing, nope gave up a while back, I prefer to stand, hence going to rear seats but for me it's the nonsensical stewarding, x block is a military control zone, you show your ticket 3 times to get to the seat, searches and if it was police, ok but not bloody bullies in yellow. can I be bothered? not anymore. in fact millwall away was a doddle, even the walk thru home fans was ok. | | | |

It’s not about blame. But silver is £465 for 23 games. A fraction over £20 per game. Non-League charge £10 an upwards now. It’s not actually bad value. Pu to the right of the staircase as you look at it and Q block...they’re silver, and they’re empty. I don’t buy the price argument. Individual match tickets are ridiculously expensive, but a ST is not.
It’s QPR. If it’s your team, and you’re currently a ST holder, what else will you do? £465 doesn’t get you much nowadays. | | | |

We have gone from one of the hardest working Rangers outfits of my lifetime to reminding me of the 1985 team of Fillery, James, Chivers, Robison et al, as lazy a bunch of bastids as I've ever had the misfortune to cast eyes upon.
This current crew have all the tricks - suspensions, convenient injuries - that fans no oh so well. They're codding no-one. But then, they probably don't care about that either. |  |

There’s two aspects to this for me. I’ve always thought £465 for 23 games is cheap, even more so with concessions for children. But I’ve got to the stage where even at that price I don’t think it’s money well spent because what we’re being given on the pitch is so poor it’s just not enjoyable. If I was offered 23 trips to the opera for the same that would be cheap but I wouldn’t want it because I wouldn’t enjoy it.
The second point is the time. Most people work five days a week and have two off. I don’t want to waste half a weekend doing something that not only isn’t any fun but quite often puts me in a bad mood.

It’s barely more than a trip to the cinema. It’s far less than Sky Sports. Christ, a Nando’s with a drink and tip is basically the same.
Tell me what that £465 would go on that you’d care more about than QPR or feel was better value It barely buys you a buggy for a child! And you can only need one of them every year, max!
I get it’s sh*t at the minute. But the above still stands. You either care and want to go or you don’t. Absolutely fine and entirely your choice if it’s the latter. But don’t make out it’s the football (we’ve been far worse and football supporting isn’t only about winning) or the price (it’s been more and comparatively it’s reasonable). If it’s family commitments or a life situation that means you don’t renew, then fair enough. But price or the quality of football? Nah.

Losing is part of sport. Without it there would be no winning. You need the lows for the highs. I completely understand the last few years have been tough, losing more than we win, and I expect next year to be tough. But, your argument, still seems to be, if we were better and got more wins i’d be willing to go more, therefore pay more each season. I’m sorry, in that case all my previous points still stand. If you or anyone said, “actually i’m at point in life where regardless how good we are and regardless how cheap it is, I can’t go because I have young children”, or “I need to spend time with an elderly, ill family member,” or “work now means I can’t get to LR on Sats”, or “work has taken me out of the country”, etc, then absolutely fair enough. That is life.
But if you’re choosing not to go because the football isn’t good, i’m confused how that’s the behaviour of a QPR “supporter”. It’s tough. It’s sh*t. But it’s QPR. They’re your team or they’re not. At this point in the club’s history, with another tough FFP year to get through and the first year with no parachute payments, the club needs its supporters. | | | |

Seems like the answer lies in whether you go to Rangers out of blind faith,as I and many other s do, or people want some kind of "value " from their ticket, be that winning, stylish football ( whatever that is ) or just committed players . Obviously everyone would WANT those things but not having them isn't enough to stop me renewing. I do find it's easier to fall out of love with football in general these days with all the diving , feigning injury, time wasting, gullible referees, VAR to create drama for armchair fans , minimal 'contact ' for penalties as if contact is a sin, etc etc , but I can't ever see me falling out of love with Rangers . If it's in your blood I can't see how you'd make a conscious decision to not go , assuming you are lucky enough to be able to afford it . Even if you went away for nice weekend trips instead of going to football, you'd still be twitching every Saturday waiting for the scores ? I might change my mind if we ever had pondlife like Barton or heaven forbid BRJ on the payroll. Heaven would hopefully freeze over first ! | | | |

Dixie, I'm not sure who BRJ is but I'm sure you remember Barton was on the payroll and heaven didn't freeze over and neither did we stop going.
I have auto renewed and will be making the 200 mile round trip again because Rangers are in my DNA and I will go as long as I am able.
It is depressing sometimes but there is always another game to look forward to and I can never forget the excitement of 2011's run in and the will we win the league, lose out to our opponents or get done for Paladinis mistakes.

I have auto renewed and will be making the 200 mile round trip again because Rangers are in my DNA and I will go as long as I am able.
It is depressing sometimes but there is always another game to look forward to and I can never forget the excitement of 2011's run in and the will we win the league, lose out to our opponents or get done for Paladinis mistakes.
I'm not expecting too much next season as I haven't got much of a clue who will be coming into the club but it will be a monumental challenge and I want to give my support. |

Your right, apologies. What you specifically earn is irrelevant i just meant if anybody is financialy ok than ticket prices are not a problem.
The things you mention, cinema, Nandos, theatre etc are one off treats in my house and i guess for many others. Certainly not doing it every week. The £500 for a ticket is one thing but its also all the other costs involved, travel expenses, food , drink etc. It all adds up.
The cost is a big part of dwindling crowds on top of the fact that we're not playing great at the mo. But i think the money that QPR has thrown down the drain on multi-millionaire players also leaves a sour taste for many fans. The fact we're left to pick up the tab as it were is off putting. We've got billionaire owners that say they want to make our club self sustaining but have effectively drilled a hole in our bucket with the way they've run things. The club has really stretched fans loyalty and imo TF has taken liberty with our fanbase. Im going off topic now. Bottom line is i cant afford to go to all our home games plus other commitments means i cant. Thats the reality for me. | |

I know most on here will probably say I’m not much of a fan, but I honestly can’t remember the last time I really looked forward to going to a home game. One of the mates I sat with gave up the ghost about 5 years back. His reason was due to cost, so I don’t blame him. The other friend I sit with can’t afford to pay the gold price in the upper loft anymore, and wants to sit in X block next season. Again, I don’t blame him either. Paying £535 to sit in the upper loft is outrageous really.
I know if you divide the cost by 23 it doesn’t seem so bad, but I miss quite a few home games each season. It’s rare I can get to a night game due to work commitments, and even a couple of Saturdays due to work or other factors.
I love my seat in the upper loft. It’s an aisle seat right by the stairs to NU, toilets to the left, refreshment kiosk to the right and the main stairs bang in front of you. I’ve had the same seat for 22 seasons now. I’m not going to sit there on my own like Billy no mates. Setting the world to rights during the game took our mind off the rubbish we were watching.
So, if I renew, and it’s a big if, it looks like it’ll be down in X block. And truth be told, I don’t want to go down there. At this moment in time, it looks like a membership for me for next season.
Slightly off tangent, but we’re £200m in debt, and we’re light years away from being a play off challenging team in this league. Tony Fernandes has been an unmitigated disaster for this club. He’s been a one man wrecking ball who seems to be ruled by brainless bastards on Twitter. He sacks the man who gave us our best season in this league since 1983, and appoints a man who bloody interviewed us for fùck sake. We won the massive jackpot on the lottery a few years back, and now we’re queuing up at the bloody food bank begging for scraps. |  | | |
