Once again another great report. Thanks very much for taking the time to put these together.

Scooters, Tunes, Trainers and QPR.

Absolutely spot on once again. Particularly Re Luke Freeman. There was no need for a vote and for anybody who actually did vote and it wasn't for Luke Freeman...well i'd be fascinated to check the results of an ECG, because there would likely be a chemical imbalance somewhere.

I'll wager that anybody out there who didn't vote for Luke Freeman also voted against Adel for the best season ever witnessed by a Championship player, the miserable gets.

Good report, particularly Freeman. I'm reading Luton want £5m for some right back of theirs, expect some serious fall out when the Freeman fee is announced.

Also, a thank you to the 3 loans Rangel, Cameron and Wells for their contributions before Christmas which ultimately means your writing these reports at a Championship club still.

As I've said before, I was sometimes a bit negative on Freeman. He had a tendency to overplay, pass too late, or not at all, would shout at others, but chuckle at his own errors.

But he seem to put all of those past him this year. Exemplary season

Not to get into a kerfuffle on a sunny day by calling this "Ian Holloway live, part three" but kin ell you're not half stubborn about cutely glossing over his nonsenses while painting the most negative possible interpretation of McClaren's.

Have argued the case about the loans in and out previously so let's leave it (shout out to "statistics agency" Whoscored ratings though) but this bit:

Ebere Eze, Ryan Manning, Ilias Chair, Luke Freeman, Mass Luongo and others could all play deep, or wide, or further forwards and McClaren was keen for each of them to nail down one role each and perfect it rather than rotate around as wildly as they had been doing. When Scowen came back for pre-season talking up his own ability as a more attacking, box-to-box midfielder, as he had been at Barnsley, it had McClaren rolling his eyes as early as mid-July.

is one I hope we all lovingly remember when we're deep into the worst of Warburton and some well-drilled old dogs make us look like tippy tappy fannies. (I do think there will be the best of Warbs too though - just dunno which side will outweigh the other).

Also Hourihane was the AMC B2B at Barnsley! Do you trust every goblin you meet!

As with the thread about Lloyd Kelly going to Bournemouth we need to nip these false comparisons in the bud already. Top sides will always invest far more in modern English U21 defender than an itinerant lower league maverick reaching the peak of his career.

Sorry just to clarify, that was Scowen saying he'd played like that at Barnsley to McClaren, not me saying he had.

And yes, agree with you that I think we can already see a lot of what's going to happen with Warburton. I'm expecting quite a similar pattern to his time at Forest.

Very good report. It is sad we did not see more of the Jordan Cousins who played against Watford. I presume he was playing for a contract at the time though he was also played out of position at times. He is not a right back.

No.

Although as it happens he played right back at Forest where we won and kept a clean sheet. In fact I don't think that back four (Bidwell, Furlong, Leistner, Cousins) played together again!

Poll: How old is everyone on here?

Whole defence was good that day. Amazing we didn't see Leistner and Furlong together more often.

Thanks Clive. I always thought Wheeler was a strange signing. Came from a league a bit too far down, too old to be called up-and-coming, and not really for what we needed.

I don't see a future for him here. If he hasn't found any form near this level by his age it's unlikely he ever will.

Fiasco of a signing really, and especially rum stuff in the context of The Remit etc. Spent half a million of money we could scarcely afford on a mature player for the present and then apparently had no place or plan for him.

If we gambled and he fell short that's one thing - it happens - but fundamentally we still don't even really know his limits either way because he's never had a fair shake here (whether on the wing - remember we signed Bright the same week - or as adaptable front man as suggested). That's unacceptable. Sure there's been some injury disruption in mitigation but it's not like he disgraced himself or anything the few times he was given a chance like Goss for instance.

At least if we made mistakes in the market last September (you could draw an analogy with Hemed) it was partly because we knew there would be no room to change anything in January with the transfer ban. Wheeler though, inexplicable.

Could even really argue there was far less reason to loan him out last season than Manning.
