Maybe, although an out-of-contract CB in this division is likely someone we'd have been looking at for a while. Would be surprised if Penrice hadn't watched him.
Also, this isn't an either/or. I think Les said a manager says if they want a particular player they will look at him but also have others for that position and then discuss it. I don't think it is - nor should it be - players foisted on managers - or vice versa. |
Yeah agree with that, sure we've got a good track of all players whose contracts have come down to a year or less, also didn't realise Barbet wasn't a Warburton player, so it's a moot point anyway.
Signing imminent and you have to say, three very solid looking additions so far to address a poor and depleted defence. |  |

Striker is the big one and I expect the most difficult. Interesting to see if we take a more target man type player to bring the young attacking midfield players into the game more, or a pure goalscorer type. Either are very expensive at this level so be interesting to see how we wrangle it.
Great start though, definitely. Think there will be a couple of loans and at least one more perm to go but we have options for an actual team at least!
