Everton appear to have signed 'This Morning' TV presenter, Rylan Clark-Neal, accidentally mistaking him for André Gomes. Marco Silva commented, 'It was an honest mistake. I've still not seen both of them in a room at the same time. Gomes has sometimes flattered to deceive and I am sure Rylan can kick a ball around a bit, if they are indeed two different people?"

Everton hope the mistake will save them a considerable part of the €28m Euros that Gomes was expected to cost the club. Everton chairman, Bill Kenwright commented, "We believe Rylan earns about half a million a year doing This Morning and as long as he can make training in the afternoon we are happy to match that. Given how Marco's sides tend to slide after a bright start we can introduce Rylan to the team around that time and hopefully the fans will just think Gomes is a bit off the boil. Who knows though? I've seen Gomes a number of times and sometimes I think he'd be better presenting Morning TV than playing football."

These sorts of things can happen from time to time and are just one of the pitfalls of the chairman / DOFs role - look how many signings are made based on YouTube appearances.

Another case of mistaken identity: https://rokerreport.sbnation.com/2017/5/24/15682128/finally-after-years-of-denia

"Thank you for supporting Queens Park Rangers Steep Staircase"... and I thought I'd signed up for a rollercoaster.
