Yeah, I really liked the look of him. Great first touch, crisp passing, worked hard and actually very quick. Not afraid to get stuck in. Looked to have something about him. On today’s evidence, which is limited I know, i’d prefer him to Amos and Scowen.

Pugh looked very good and like a very clever player but nowhere near fully fit. Gassed after 50 min!

Really?

I wasn’t too impresssd with his first half performance. He reminded me a bit of Michael Doughty- very busy but didn’t really bring too much to the table.. I wasn’t too crazy about his movement off the ball. Based off what I saw, he doesn’t have the ball winning/possession disrupting skills of a scowen nor can he run a midfield like Amos.

He definitely had a better second half. Perhaps the shift out of a back 5 to a back 4 made a difference. The sequence where he found space for the ball from Owens, collected and passed to wells before he struck the bar was lovely.

But it’s way too premature for me to evaluate. Would like to judge after I see him play a few more times

Pugh was very good going forward but left his full back very exposed at times. Scowen is not and never will be an attacking midfielder, no matter what he thinks or wants. There was good things about Smith and Amos and there were a few bad things. Expect they will both be a lot better when they get some matches in. Leistner was up against a very good player tonight and had a difficult time. He must stop that long diagonal ball that goes sailing over Chairs head. Chair must start Saturday/

I didn't really notice him do anything of note. He definitely upped the effort levels second half just never seemed to be in the right place to do anything with the ball. Combative player which is useful at this level. Didn't see enough to judge properly. I thought their keeper might have got a touch to his penalty and looking at the replay it was a very good save.

He pulled out of one challenge second half. Dangled a token academy leg in there against a proper man and nearly got it snapped off. Next occasion, went in properly, came out the other side with the ball, set us away on another attack.

If he reminded me of anyone, both to look at and in his style of play, it's Simon Barker.

I thought he played quite well, finding space, making himself available, tackling, passing. He didn't look out of place in a very good midfield. I think we have real competition for every place on the pitch.

For the penalty, as soon as he went to take it, I thought the run-up was too long and unfortunately, I wasn't surprised when it didn't go in.

Yeah I wasn't surprised when it didn't go in either. Was unfortunate though in the end.
