OVER 20,000 FANS SET FOR QPR SHOWDOWN
A guaranteed 20,000 supporters will pack Ashton Gate for the visit of QPR this weekend.

It's full focus on the Sky Bet Championship after Tuesday night's Carabao Cup exit via penalties, with Mark Warburton's side in BS3 just four days later.

Saturday's fixture is matchday three of the 2019/20 campaign - City's second game at home - and supporters have been snapping up their City v QPR tickets for just £10 thanks to a special Members offer.

Here for the Rangers...you’re only here for the Rangers...

Enjoy the game Konk - Rangers and you know you are !

Thanks, mate. If he takes a shine to Rangers, I’ll tell him you’re Morton. But then I’ll have to go to Greenock every other week. I hadn’t thought of that...

There's still some availability, mate!

I'm actually taking my son to the Gate for the first time on Saturday. Reckon he'll probably end up supporting City, so I'm going to start taking him down there when we have a free weekend in Bristol. Although if Rangers win 8-0 or he likes your kit or something, he might end up an R. I hadn't thought of that...

They seem like an okay club to me Konk and they try to play football, so you could do worse. The fans seemed alright from a brief view on the way back, especially as they'd lost such a close game. Enjoy the match!

Us taking 1400, that's not great. They brought roughly the same on Tuesday and Huddersfield brought 1800 last week. Even Fulham took 1800 away to their first game this season.

I'm away this weekend, which really hacks me off as it's the closest game to me.

Bristol brought 882 on Tuesday. We've sold 1400, both figures are decent.

Well this will be my first away day since the Forest drubbing two years ago. Its also the first time I've actually been excited by a QPR side in years.

Even my 80 year old mum is travelling down with me for her first away game in 40 years along with my brother on the back of Tuesday night's excitement.

That is over 10% of our fans at home matches.

I think that is quite a good turn out.

Besides, it is the quality & not the quantity of our support that matters!

I remember going to Ashton gate in 1970 & I doubt that there were more than 200 Rangers fans present.

I reckon if it was pay-on-the-day, we would have added a fair few more but 1400+ buying up front is impressive

Thanks mate. We're in the family enclosure, which City have stuck 7 miles away from the pitch at the top of the new main stand, so not sure how he'll get on with that, as we usually try and get right on top of things. Hopefully a decent game with a few goals and a bit of sunshine.

My natural preference is to go with the underdog, so I would probably have started taking him to Rovers, but we are so close to City, and the whole area is City, so it would be a bit daft taking him across town to watch Rovers, when it's the community side of things that makes me think he'll get more from supporting City than Fulham in the long term. In my experience, both Bristol clubs are generally fine.

Have a cracking day out. Hope the weather’s nice.

Sorry, mate; I hadn't seen this post. We had a lovely afternoon in the Sunshine, ta. Star Wars Top Trumps, a couple of pints and a bit of Dobble* in the pub before taking a stroll down to the Gate. Good times.

I'm sorry to report, but my son didn't fall in love with Rangers. Partly because he kept forgetting the name - he kept calling you PQR because that's the way the letters fall in the alphabet (good logic) and until midway through the 2nd half, thought you were called Queen's Park Dangers (because you are dangerous to other teams - reasonable logic - he is only 4) - and he also said he doesn't like teams who play in blue, so that rules out Rovers and also Chelsea. Phew.

After the second goal, he started referring to City as "we", the glory-hunting tw at, and tells me he now supports Fulham, Bristol City, England and Ryan Sessegnon.

*This is not "street talk" for coke - it's a game for kids.

I’d have to question this “full house” confirmation

There’s every chance vast blocks of seats are occupied by groups of Bristolians who are season ticket holders and all go on holiday together at exactly the same time; but I doubt it.
The atmosphere was a bit disappointing as well.
Travelling support pretty good and in decent voice; remained positive largely due to the team actually trying to play football this season and using pace. What sourcery is this?!?!

Like what they’ve done to the ground and not a bad trip at all, but....... Jesus that walk to the station is a killer!

Special mention to the two absolute cocks who nicked bottles of red wine on the 6:41pm and caused it to be terminated at Reading. You really are a special pair with specific needs. Thanks

Cherish and enjoy life.... this ain't no dress rehearsal

I agree mate. Loads of empty seats in that stand to the right of us. Many of them together in big blocks.

I looked at all the Upper Landsdown blocks when I was booking my tickets, and there were very, very few pairs of seats together up there, with most blocks having 10-20 single seats available. On Saturday, there were loads of empty seats around us - five in a row right next to us. No idea about the Lower Lansdown, but the Upper tier did genuinely seem to be a case of tickets sold, but people away. Agree about the atmosphere - I always remember it being quite loud and hostile back in the 80's and 90's, but it's only the block between the Dolman and the South Stand that seems to make any noise these days (and I'm sure the Dolman always seemed to have a lot of "Lads" in it back then too)

It's about 35-40 mins to the station, which is a bit of a schlep, but can be easily broken up with some good boozers along the way.

I did like the look of the City. I was certainly given a chance to see it sitting in about three quarter of an hours traffic to and from the game

The traffic and lack of proper public transport are the two worst things about Bristol. Loads of roadworks around Templemeads have a knock-on effect throughout Central Bristol. Whereabouts did you get parked-up in the end? Looked like parking was much easier on Saturday - half my street seem to be on holiday at the moment.

We parked at Bedminster Cricket Club, well just next door which was OK. I'd use it again as it was only a ten minute walk to the ground.

your right about the traffic. me and the grandson walked the short distance after the match to the rising sun pub. phoned for a cab, they were there within 5 minutes, taking in to consideration the fans were in full flow, that was pretty good. took the driver 40 minutes to get to the premier inn, finzels reach.....lovely city. shame about Friday though, we were drenched to the bone.

Poll: how many games this season....home/away.

My son went to nursery next to the cricket club - it's a lovely spot. Good shout if you're happy paying for parking and don't want to cruise round Ashton looking for somewhere to park-up.

qpr_1968: Yeah, the traffic can be brutal. I just walk or cycle everywhere because the buses generally go at sub-walking pace and I don't drive. Glad you had a good time in Bristol - sorry about the weather - it was a bit hardcore on the Friday!
