Great business! I'm not used to the club making me so happy and I'm not emotionally equipped to handle.

This is very good news and the club is doing well to retain these young players. Imperative that Les and co got Chair to sign because if we do get a massive bid for Eze then we have to have another playmaker and Chair is well equipped to do that. Obviously it would be good to keep Eze as long as possible, and he is under contract until August 2021 but we do need Chair to take over if we get an offer we and Eze can't turn down at some stage. Obviously great right now to have them both. Chair and Eze starting to remind me of Adel and Ephraim in the first half of the 2011 season.

Never knowingly right.

Great business by the club.

Don’t want to sound like a broken record - £20m for eze in January allows us to reinforce our current ‘attack heavy’ squad and buys a couple of solid ball playing centre backs and a midfielder/goalkeeper and/or makes Hughill permanent, allows Chair a bigger role to grow the into and leaves us some cash to pay the bills... Warburton can be trusted with transfers, unlike every manger since Warnock.

...Step up Chair/BOS/Sho[pid]o -

Fast forward 18 months (if we don’t accidentally get promoted in the meantime) -Chair will be our ‘revenue’ stream next season.

I'd hope Eze stays to the end of the season (at least.) It'd be nice to have the memory of one complete year with him at his best. He could also be given a proper send off by home fans at season's end. Also, if we're in a similar league position to now, I'd hate to see him go to a Premier League relegation struggler. Partly because we may end up playing against him the following year, but mainly because he deserves to start with a new club at the beginning of the year, like Freeman.

With such a promising player and agents these days we don't usually manager to get deals as long as three years so this is definite progress.

We won't need to sell Eze in January as we'll get promoted this year

Fantastic news that Chair has signed for another 3 years.

On Eze, if his contract runs until the summer of 2021, and he plays well all season, what’s the maximum we could expect to get for him with 1 year left on his contract?

Great news and fully deserved. Sends a message out to the other youngsters, get your head down, go out on loan at a lower level to get experience and you’ll get rewarded.

After 25 minutes on Saturday I was telling anyone who would listen that we were going to win the league, I've calmed down to playoff win after the second half.

My optimism is mainly based on the fact my wife has booked a holiday for May next year and we fly out on the day of the playoff final, we've never done this before to be out of the country for the playoffs and the only other time we booked something else for playoff weekend was my sister in laws 30th birthday party at our house in 2014 which meant my misses and son couldn't go to wembley for Bobby Zamora day.

He'll never been in the same league as Eze (he's top top top top) but he's still great.

I really do think that Chair and Eze could be our 21st century version of Francis and Bowles. They are really starting to gel. Eze to me is starting to show what a team player he is, as was Bowles. Chair has great energy and is very much box to box, great eye for a pass, great shot and a great football brain, not unlike Francis. If they end up being 50% as good as those two legends then for this season at least we are in for a treat.

Fully agree with all that and would add that they both have a great understanding with Nahki Wells too, t's like they have all been playing together for years.

The grass is always greener.

Chair is obviously very quick and hasn't really got going with the spectacular goal scoring for us yet.

Much to look forward to. Well done to him and I'm delighted.

Well done the club.

On Eze, as said on another thread, the problem for me is January. He will definitely go next summer, that (sadly) is a cert and the way our model has to work. But if we can commit him here for the 2nd half of this season that would be a huge boost.

Different players, but I'm not quite sure. Chair to me looks like a Guardiola-type player - like a Bernardo Silva. Remains to be seen how far he can go!

Bare bones.
