Or not as the case appears to be. The roads around Molesey in Surrey this afternoon have become a network of fast moving canals.

I've never seen anything quite like it to be honest. Working from home today it's almost like someone is jetwashing the roof such is the ferocity of the rain fall. We're doomed.

It's been biblical in west London this afternoon but the sun is out now. Further heavy showers for the rest of the day. Tomorrow, unbroken sunshine so it's a visit to Kew Gardens ( hey, Rock and Roll), followed by the pub.

Got a nice email from Affinity Water at the start of the week saying we were now officially in drought, I would be banned from using my hosepipe next year and I should start considering whether I need to shower as often and for as long.

Not much ‘affinity’ there then.

Hopefully today has helped although probably the wrong type of rain.

The right rain is Status Quo.

Many games called off tonight. Harefield United vs Dunstable called off at 6pm, North Greenford United v Leverstock Green called off at 7.07pm, Wealdstone v CB Hounslow also called off.
I ended up going to Hanwell Town v Harlow Town in the FA Trophy which miraculously survived while nearby streets were under 5 inches of water. Hanwell won 4-1.

It's climate wetting, a derivative of climate warming.

We need more reservoirs to cope with demand, they’re all full and still issue drought warnings !
