Exciting Friday night Rangers games 16:16 - Oct 11 with 1298 views | terryb | Following Antti's Friday post, what is your most memorable Rangers Friday game? Mine was a 1-0 home defeat to Don Revie's team of choirbors in January 1970. For all but thirty seconds of the match we outplayed, outhought & outfought the furure Champions fo Europe. This was probably our best performance in that traumatic season & we followed it up with another outstanding display in a 3-2 defeat at Tottenham. Our best two games finashed in two defeats! The Leeds goal came early on from a cross & the floodlights went to full power as our 'keeper (Mike Kelly?) went to catch the ball! We even had a penalty that Bobby Keetch had saved. To be fair to Keetch, Marsh & the other players refused to take the kick!

Exciting Friday night Rangers games on 11:21 - Oct 12 with 1044 views | HantsR | I remember that Friday night match v Lids so well. I think it had to have been 1969 as we were in the 1st division briefly. When the floodlights came on to full strength Mick Jones challenged Kelly ( of course we thought unfairly) and the ball bobbled into the net. Bobby Keetch was the only one man enough to take our penalty but it was one of the worst I have ever seen and was easily saved.

Definitely January 1969! I must have been trying to lose a year from my age! I still have no idea why it was played on the Friday night instead of the Saturday.
Exciting Friday night Rangers games on 07:23 - Oct 13 with 864 views | DWQPR | QPR 2 Brighton 0. Final home game of the 1972-73 season after promotion back to Division One was confirmed. Why it was played on a Friday evening I don’t know. Was only 7 at the time. But what a team that was developing, including Parkes, Clement, Francis, Bowles, Givens and Thomas.
