Amazing. All great goals to be fair. Very clever finish from Manning. EZE doing a passable impression of Messi. Unbelievable skill and brilliant penalties, even if the first perhaps should have been retaken. Unbelievable skill from Eze.

Fooooking hell. Weeeeeeee're great!

Never knowingly right.

Jesus Eze was taking the p1ss for those two runs I’m never easily impressed but that was world class
Truly world class

And Bowles is onside, Swinburne has come rushing out of his goal , what can Bowles do here , onto the left foot no, on to the right foot That’s there that’s two, and that’s Bowles Brian Moore

watched the highlights - I think lumley may be back in next week

I dont think he will

Absolutely no fault for the first, some minutes before that Kelly came out early and by doing do blocked an almost certain goal by Grositzki . Kelly's distribution was good throughout the came and he came and claimed crosses effectively

you could argue he should have stayed back for the 2nd I guess but i have seen Lunley dash out for those as well

Personally I dont think their is much between them, perhaps Lumley is a better shot stopper but Kelly definitely has better feet and more confident in possesion

"Unbelievable skill and brilliant penalties, even if the first perhaps should have been retaken."

It use to be the case but was that law not changed some time ago.

Not seen it yet - prefer to wait for offy highlights and 90'

Hull manager moaned about it - misquoting (there's a surprise!) the law.

Here's what the law actually says - feinting is allowed in the run up but not when the run up is completed.

I'll let you know what I think tomorrow but given that law wording sure you can make up your own minds!

The run up had not been completed.

It is even questionable as to whether he totally stopped as his rear foot was slowly moving forward in the air!

Very fair summation of today, and of the season so far.

I know almost nothing about the Premier League even though I try to catch the big games every now and then at the end of the season. But I will say this, Queens Park Rangers is just a fukking sick ass team name. Just sounds so cool.

Really want to see longer highlights.
Bad side: Terrible defending for the first, arguably questionable keeping. Poor defending for the second, but undoubtedly poor keeping - not sure what he was doing out there. Made it easy for him.
Good side: What a goal by Manning - superb. Eze looks better and better - absolutely brilliant!

Only two teams have scored more than us this season, only two teams have conceded more! Bizarre.
If we could defend, we'd go up.

Agreed

If our defence was better/tighter, we would certainly be a top play off side this year.

And Goalie wise, I'm not sure that Kelly is any better than Lumley. Neither has impressed me.

The world is full of Ifs and Buts - if only we still had Smithies then I'm sure we would be very serious promotion candidates.

Anyway, so far we have wildly exceeded my expectations and I suspect most everyone on this forum. I mean 5th after 12 games and 1 point from 2nd. Unbelievable Jeff.

I hope that we have now stopped being an 'everyone is for sale team' and that MW is able to keep these players for next season, in particular Eze & Manning plus hopefully Hughill and Wells. We now have a great base to build upon. If Eze and or Manning are sold for quick instant £s then we will suffer.

But keep them and make a few signings for the defence, plus the incremental improvement that will surely take place throughout this season, will make us very strong contenders for a top 2 finish next season.

The perennial QPR problem. If we had bought rather than had to sell in 92-3, we could have been contenders.

Bottom line is that we are a small club and have to sell to balance the books. Or we should be paying small wages so players will want to leave for more money eventually...

Can we go out yet?

Spot on Terry.

Now I've seen it - that IS feinting 'in the run up' and perfectly legal.

Just to answer one post above - if it WAS deemed illegal it would be an IDFK, not a retake.

Struck better ?? FFS

I’m so sorry for ruining your weekend with an opinion that penalties should be hit firmer and run ups shouldn’t have a stutter.

Ever thought of getting out of that ivory tower for once and engaging in dialogue?

to be fair, a good penalty technique is what works and how a player feels comfortable doing it and how they feel they'll be most successful. It's not how some fan thinks every pen should be taken. There's really not much more debate to be had, is there?
I get your point, you prefer it to be hammered. Fair enough. But there's no *should* about it. The best pen taker I've seen is Helguson. Passed it in every time. Superb technique. Equally, Ray Stewart for West Ham, who just smacked it top corner. Great. Equally, Burnley player whose name escapes me developed a technique of running arrow straight at the ball and bashing it one side or the other - really odd, but worked for him.
Down to the individual.

There's always room for improvement in ANY side but I would say we are doing a pretty good impersonation of being 'serious promotion candidates' already!
