If Clive wishes to remove this thread I am more than happy for him to do so but it isn't about me trying to glorify football hooliganism, it honestly wasn't ever my 'thing' after I was hit with an orange with a razor blade in it around 1968 and later up at Maine Road when the Kippax began raining pieces of slate down at us and one R had his face sliced open.
My thinking is that I wanted to put a small piece together for AKUTR'S about the various crews that QPR had during those times and the bizarre rivalry they had among each other. I am hoping to speak to one or two of the faces whilst at games but I will have to rely on input from posters on here and other message boards for a wider picture. I am not really interested in stories of how (x) QPR mob ran such and such at a game but I am fascinated by the rivalry between the different QPR mobs which, considering that we aren't one of the 'big' clubs strikes me as quite bizzare and it seems to be centred around the Northolt/ Ruislip R's not getting on with any of the others.
As I say I have very little experience of this other than a meet up with mobs from a few of the other clubs who had had problems with the MIG's at Kennilworth Road during the ban so decided to hire a couple of mini buses and intercepted the Luton coaches in a service station on their way to either Ipswich or Norwich.
If people are uncomfortable about identifying themselves as being involved in what was criminal activity then broad brush descriptions are more than helpful enough but as I say, it isn't to glorify the fighting etc. it is to reach an understanding why QPR mobs didn't get on with each other.
There are a number of posters on here who can vouch that I am not old Bill or looking to get anyone stitched up

As I said in the post Brian, I am not looking for instances of meet ups etc. it is to be an insight piece on why the various factions of the QPR mobs didn't get on. It is a strange one to me as we aren't a very big club and you would think that they would all be in it together. I am not looking to use peoples name in the piece either so where there are references to particular instances, only the people involved would know who they actually are. It's a bit like the Tommy Nintendo story, if you know you know but if you don't it is unlikely that people will discuss it much because there could be legal repercussions regarding slander and libel. I got hit with an orange which had a razor blade in it when I was 11/ 12 years old at Rangers and it put me right off the idea of football hooliganism being attractive. I'll say right here, I have never been involved in it and I am not trying to glorify it. | |

I'm with Brian on this. I'm not doubting your motives as being genuine, but personally I have no interest in it and no interest at all in which local mob didn't get on with another local mob. The worst part of going to football as a young lad in the late 70s and early 80s was that genuine fear you had before and after games in ensuring your own safety. Very few people at that time would have not witnessed some very terrifying moments and sometimes young kids and women would get caught up in it. Writing about it however innocently will glorify it for some and frankly I think the less said about some of those dark times the better. |  | | |

I am asking for information, not names, on the rivalry between the QPR firms and why it existed. I have had a couple of people on another forum respond with the sort of info I am looking for, "it was about the clobber we wore, I dunno why but other QPR firms just didn't seem to like us" This is what the hoped for article is going to be about, not " Psycho Dave took on the whole of the North Bank on his own and they were shitting themselves" bollocks. It is to be about why a fairly small club like QPR managed to have 3 or 4 firms and why a lot of them didn't like each other. | |

My understanding of it, was that it was literally down to inter - estate rivalry.
Used to drink with some lads at Acton South through work who used to arrange punch ups with White City etc.
