Travel is fatal to prejudice, bigotry and narrow-mindedness, and many of our people need it sorely on these accounts. Broad, wholesome, charitable views of men and things cannot be acquired by vegetating in one little corner of the Earth all one’s lifetime. (Mark Twain) Find me on twitter @derbyhoop

You have to go prolific to help ward off boredom if we're talking whole catalogues, and you want an actor with a really nice spread of comedy, drama and action and maybe even romance for those lonely nights and a writer who does something of everything:

Theroux
Cary Grant
Armstrong

Writer: John Irving
Actor: Peter Mullan/Olivia Coleman - both were remarkable in Tyrannosaur but I love her in Fleabag and Broadchurch for light relief. Denzel is also a fave. And Jimmy Stewart.
Music: John Martyn

I was about to ask who is Armstrong, when the penny dropped, 'Satchmo', Louis Armstrong.

Writer: Stephen King (although not bothered to be fair)
Actor: Pacino
Music: Stevie Wonder

none would be favourites, but going for a quality/quantity balance

I know. Blatant cheating! But how can you choose between Jimmy Stewart and Peter Mullan? But both brilliant in their own way. Tbh I already culled Gene Hackman and Al Pacino in anything before Scent of a Woman, when he became a self-parody. And then there's Jack Nicholson in most things...I think I'd better shut up now.
