Barnsley 0 Queens Park Rangers 2 on 16:53 - Dec 14 by jonno | Yes. No problem with losing, but they need to learn lessons from this. |
Exactly. Came back from the 4-0 at Forest with seven points from nine and our first clean sheets. Need to replicate that. Chair off the mark. [Post edited 14 Dec 2019 16:56]

Defending was very poor but a bad team selection after having had 2 clean sheets, also the body language basically told its own story they just gave up

Last one I can remember was Rotherham 5-1 at home towards the end of 2016-17 season which I think was a pre-cursor to a run of six straight losses.

Barnsley 0 Queens Park Rangers 2 on 17:51 - Dec 14 with 1720 views | johncharles | Warburton getting stick for changing a winning team and it’s hard not to agree. On the other hand he’s done exceptionally well within the limits he’s been set. We could still sneak into the playoffs and that would be a miracle considering the situation at the start of the season. Cut him some slack, he’s not an an arrogant money grabber like some we’ve been lumbered with in the past

Barnsley 0 Queens Park Rangers 2 on 16:53 - Dec 14 by BrianMcCarthy | Sorry, FB, We just made a bollix of this one. On the sideline and on the pitch. We were outfought by them and outthought by ourselves. And - this is crucial - outworked. No excuse for that. |
Not disagreeing with any of that Brian, just the two D words which I feel are just emotive rather than rational expressions of disappointment. Bad days happen to even the best teams.

Not getting down, FB, don't worry. As you say, bad days happen to everyone. We've all watched them and we've all had them as players and coaches. And Warburton and the players have already shown that they can recover from and learn from these days. But it's important to call the bad days for what they are. And this was a very bad one. PS. What's a "D Word"?

This. He's been strongly hinting at the need to rotate the squad, and I can understand why he might have made a couple of changes when we're doing well and against relatively poor opposition. In hindsight, he's made a mistake here, but I can see why he made it with the congested period coming up. I think we're going to have to expect to have a few poor games, especially when we've been flogging our best performing players, like Eze and Manning. Manning has looked a bit tired recently but it's been hard to rest him as Wallace hasn't looked fully up to speed either. But unless you're Leeds or West Brom, who had Austin on the bench who's reportedly earning £3.5 million per year, you're likely to have off days. Even Forest lost 4-0 today at home, despite their much more expensive squad. Ok they played Wednesday and we played the bottom team, but from some accounts, Barnsley has been playing better than their points tally would suggest, and we've just played three tough games, Derby away, Preston (now third) at home and Birmingham away, getting seven points. This is also our second away game in four days. So yes, disappointing and maybe some errors made, but not a disaster and we're still only four points from the play offs. I'd certainly have settled for that at this stage of the season with something of a scratch squad and a new manager. [Post edited 14 Dec 2019 19:55]

Barnsley 0 Queens Park Rangers 2 on 20:09 - Dec 14 with 1255 views | swisscottage | Overall we were poor, and defensively dreadful, and yet we could easily have scored 6, 7, or 8. To be fair to Barnsley, they never let us settle and every single one of them bad rashed us for the entire game.

Ha nothing revolutionary, just the words that were used by other Rrrrs on here, disgraceful and disgusting which I think are inappropriate when describing football and more suitable for rowdy and criminal behaviour. I believe abject or awful are more appropriate terms. Have a good week and let's hope we don't see any A words next Saturday evening unless it is the young peoples most overused one.
Barnsley 0 Queens Park Rangers 2 on 11:47 - Dec 15 with 879 views | johncharles | One last comment on yesterday. Barnsley were fighting for their lives. If they had lost they would be 5 points adrift at the bottom of the table. And it’s not even Christmas. Their next home game is WBA. The adrenaline must have been pumping. No wonder we looked sluggish by comparison.
