Sports Direct

I've never met the man but Mike Ashley sounds like someone 'd rather not have any dealings with.

I cant stand the way his Sports shops are set out and I've never seen so many unmotivated and downtrodden staff members working in a store. I admit I havnet visited a branch for several years and that my mind has been swayed by the publicity this man receives

Interesting to see that he believes Sports Direct & Evans Cycles should remain open as he sees his brands as offering essential services.

The only problem is that is you buy off the internet to avoid him are his grubby paws all over that too?

Also back in the 70/80's there were certain brands of jeans in my circle of people you didnt wear. Levis where out, Lee Cooper where the ones to be seen in

Don't Sports Direct now own Lee Cooper, along with other random brands - Slazenger, Lonsdale, Donnay, Le Coq Sportif...

Checked, no they don't!

McDonalds.

Haven't been in one for years. Of course, now that they are all closed I expect I'll be gagging for one by Wednesday afternoon...

re Sports Direct I completely get the distaste for Ashley but when you have young kids, it's a really good way of keeping them happy with shoes from top brands at much lower prices. The kids don't know it's last season's stock but saves me a fortune.

Don’t buy anything on line from Sports Direct. I did once a couple of years ago and I’m still getting emails from them. Tried the usual things to stop them but then they start again. They go straight to spam but still ......

The Sun and Kelvin McKenzie. Not only the Hillsborough and politics of them, but also that fcking "GUILTY - QPR LOSE 15 POINTS" stitch up that put a dampener on one of the best weeks of my life and turned out to be a load of horsht. Any football fan still giving that lot their trade should have a word, particularly QPR.

It's annoying because I've been asked several times if I wanted to host or guest on that Love Sport Radio thing which I'd actually quite enjoy but it's McKenzie's brainchild so no.

I tend to try and avoid the Man Utd sponsor as well.

And Wetherspoons. Particularly after this week.

Wetherspoons pubs. Depressing alky sheds and the CEO Tim Martin is a massive cúnt.

Here he is basically telling his employees if they need money to go and get a job at Tesco's.

Banks are open because not everyone has access to online banking, especially the elderly. I work in financial services and we still receive between 50-70 cheques a day, the people that send them don’t have any other way of sending us money. We then have to physically pay them in at the bank. Close the banks and these cheques then either sit in our office (and there are a whole load of rules around why this isn’t allowed - I won’t bore you with the detail), or we have to return them.

Re Banks, I can say with certainty you would be surprised the amount of people that still use a branch to withdraw cash over a counter under £300. (Millions of transactions every month)

Cashpoints have been around for over 50 years and a group of customers have never changed their habits and are unlikely to do so. People have many reasons why they don't/wont use a machine (some very irrational but very hard to convince to do otherwise)

You also have a demographic that live hand to mouth and will need to take out their last odd pounds and pennies (which you cannot do at a machine)

Ok, here we go...

McDonald’s and large multinational fast food places - my urine boils each time I hear them talk about their ‘restaurants’.

Anything remotely related to Murdoch.

O’Leary’s airline - although they are the only airline that fly into where I live in France, there are times they are maddening

Fast fashion - wife works in that game, some of the High St. brands are marginally improved from slave traders of yore.

Apple - they purposely send updates to destroy your devices.

Budweiser - purveyors of urine and that whole ‘wasssup’ was puerile. Never trust a person who drinks that stuff.

That’s enough for now...

I refuse to go in Pret A Manger. When that girl died due to a nut allergy the CEO refused to apologise. Plus they pay less tax than me. Along with Starphucks,. I once got asked my name to put on a cup of hot chocolate . I refused as I was the ONLY person in the shop at 5.30 on a Sunday morning. Feckin nonsense. And don't start me on all the coffee shops and fast food outlets that claim to sell food. Plus they all pay less tax than everyone on here. Khunts the lot of them.

Pret A Manger - got food poisoning off one of their salads last year (only thing I ate that day). I emailed them to let them know - I wasn't after compensation - and at the time were quite helpful. A well later they sent me a pretty cold letter saying that unless I'd 'kept my stools' I had no way of proving it was their fault. Still find that hard to believe.
