Robert Elms 14:19 - Apr 3 with 2797 views | BlackCrowe | Never normally used to listen to his show but now it's part of locked-down day. Wonderful stuff. He's such a top bloke. Robert - if you read these boards...then Good Work [Post edited 3 Apr 2020 14:20]

He mentions QPR whenever he gets an opportunity.

I totally get what you mean about hearing songs too many times and Robert's show can do this a bit as well. However, his music is quite diverse for a daytime radio show. I have been listening on a fairly regular basis since the shows early days, more than 25 years back. I have discovered artists that I may not have found otherwise, Ryan Adams, Lambchop, Yola (Phantom Limb), Geraint Watkins etc. Most of these I have since seen in concert and it has opened other avenues to explore with recordings and gigs. I don't like every song he plays, I'm not a great soul or reggae fan, although I like many tracks and I have been converted, a little, to his funky Friday slot. I do love the fourfar and cover to cover sections that he does. I concur with the other views expressed that it is a very interesting listen and I have experienced films, theatre and other places to visit as a result of what I have heard. Since I moved to the 'deep south', he is my Saturday morning listening in the car on the way to Loftus Road.

Robert Elms on 14:05 - Apr 4 with 2125 views | WrightUp5hit___ | Love all the London stories like the monkey jazz band that escaped in Latimer Road, Buffalo Bill stayed in my Grandmas B&B, The elephant buried under a roundabout in Ealing, The South London rope drawn railway. Countless others, just wish Robert would write a book with them all in it. | | | | Login to get fewer ads

Any Beatles songs are banned from his show. Another good reason to listen to Mr Elmes

He doesn't like Queen or The Smiths. Good sense. Queen were quite good but vastly over rated and over played. Morrisey drones on and on but Johnny Marr is pretty good.

Reading that at the moment. The one about London. Very enjoyable.
Robert Elms on 19:07 - Apr 4 with 1847 views | Boston | We have him on the radio occasionally at work, when we’re on a quiet job. Strangely, the London lads who work with me are not keen on his voice, think he’s a bit strained or lashing it on, though they usually enjoy the topics of the day. They do like that nice Jo Good though, ‘specially when I told ‘em she was a right little strumpet.
