Found out recently that Mick Tucker the Sweet's drummer, who died in 2002 in his 50s is buried in an unmarked grave in Chorleywood lawn cemetery. There is a memorial plaque for him on a bench in the cemetery.

I remember John Peel getting an advanced copy of a new LP and playing a track on his radio show. He said that anyone who could guess the band could have the album. Anyway, I thought the track was brilliant and couldn't wait to find out which band it was.
The following week he announced that he had received hundreds of answers giving bands ranging from Led Zeppelin to the Sadistic Mika Brothers but nobody had guessed correctly. Then he revealed the band was Sweet and I thought f*ck that, no way am I buying it.

Was it this one?
Don't think so. Mind you it was so long ago doubt I'd remember it.
A couple of the band, the guitarist and drummer, I think, later played in a band called Paddy Goes to Hollyhead. They used to play the Greyhound in Fulham Palace Road quite often as it was the lead singer's local.

Wonder was it Medusa? Sound like a very early Status Quo or The Byrd’s?

It was one of those rockers, Turn It Down or somesuch. Lots of talent there but caught between teenybopper pop and rocknroll and ended up nowhere. Shame really.
