I'd really like to see Clarke get a few minutes for us this season. I am sure there is a player in there given half a chance. I know it seems futile as he will go back to Spurs but given a chance to impress and find some confidence perhaps he would be loaned back to us next season. Having looked back at what he did at Leeds given a chance he really has some talent. |  |

Masterson may have momentarily got sucked in by the striker dropping deep but not only does Amos not track the runner who scores, he doesn't even once look at anything other than the ball during the entire phase of play as Barnsley break. Just lightly jogging around waiting for it to come to him. Doesn't matter what talent you might have with that attitude. |  | | |

There will be more than enough game time for them all with such a stretched squad. No chance of anyone playing every game I expect.
Clarke is one who in theory might benefit from the non-crowds. Showed a brief glimpse of talent in one game when he came on and might just offer something different to unlock a tiring team as we seem to lack strong crossers of the ball for all the qualities of our beautiful first choice trio behind Hugill.
Also expect BOS will fill in at front at some point to free up a slot wide. |  | | |

Yep. I'd hope that Cameron would have started on Saturday instead of Amos, but for his suspension.
Both have been underwhelming, Amos especially, but I suppose we just need the bodies if nothing else. |  |

I can't remember if it was on this board or somewhere else, but there was a preseason poll that asked which player would have the biggest impact this season, and a bunch of people listed Amos because of a couple of goals in preseason/everyone else looked so dire.

I think Materson's been guilty on a couple of occassions now of ball watching/not sensing danger which has resulted in goal/chance for the oppostion.
Agree Amos also responsible but Materson needs to wise up a bit to inteligent runners off the ball and keeping switched on all the time. Excellent positional play in the air and wins a lot of headers when a dangerous ball has been whipped in, but he needs to improve his reading of the game when the ball's on the deck. He also signposts some of his passes a bit too much for my liking so can be easily read/intercepted although that should be something he can easily improve.
He's got a great chance to establish himself with us with a run of games till the end of the season with no added crowd pressure. You can tell the Manager is paying close attention to his performances. I hope he steps up as it can save/make us a few quid.
Oh and on Amos I just can't make up my mind on him but I do like the idea of Cameron and Ball holding with the talented trickesters playing off Hugil which would leave no place for him in my preferred set-up. [Post edited 22 Jun 2020 16:40]

Agree, When Eze and BOS leave we need talent coming through. Let Mido play and let's see what he can really do.
If he fails, then at least we know and can look elsewhere if he wins through we have another player less to buy.

Think Amos is your standard Premier League academy, u23 player. Nice touch, goes missing too often, never seems to get stuck in.

Clarke strange loan signing, just does not seem interested to me. Think his head is all over the place, unless things change, will end up slipping into obscurity, albeit with loads of money.
Amos has tried this season, but he does go missing in games, Saturday prime example of this. He is unlikely to make first team at Spurs, so needs to to make a decision to build his career at Championship level. I think if he was to move to us at a reasonable price, he will make a good player at Championship level. |  | | |

I think he showed at Preston that he can affect the game physically. I agree that he doesn't always do that, though, and that he maybe needs to work on positioning and aggression next. | |
