Boring game mostly due to the academy playing 9-0-1, further ruined by yet another VAR joke with Sons left toenail being offside. I swear if they bring this to the championship that's my lot.
It's being so happy that keeps me going.

Coupled with the Leicester v Brighton game before it, its enough to drive a man to drink... genuinely feel that the quality of all returning football after the virus has been pretty damn turgid. definitely something to do with no crowds - I don't think that half the players are putting a reasonable shift in.

I did not think it would be great but really shocked by how bad it is with no crowd. Even if they let some in at some point the social distancing will mean there is no chance of building any volume. It does make you feel for Arsenal fans as they have had years of watching in silence.

Definitely something to do with the lack of supporters but I’d say it’s more to do with match fitness as many teams don’t look sharp enough.
This was noticeable in the early Bundesliga games as the quality was turgid at times but it soon picked up again after a few games.

I said a few weeks back that the average armchair “football fan” is not going to watch Brighton vs Leicester in an empty stadium for long What we are watching is basically testimonial games The longer it goes on with no fans the weaker the product becomes , I really hope this is the start of the bubble bursting, it’s a disgrace that the lower leagues have been shafted but don’t fret the greatest league in the world is back I think we are watching the football has jumped the shark moment
And Bowles is onside, Swinburne has come rushing out of his goal , what can Bowles do here , onto the left foot no, on to the right foot
That’s there that’s two, and that’s Bowles

It feels like a World Cup summer with all the football on every day. Some of it isn’t the best and the audio leaves a lot to be desired, but it’s much better than watching another episode of some of the rubbish on the terrestrial channels. Now we only have to put on a show on Saturday.

Yep, football every night for 4-5 weeks, after three months of zero sport. Loving it

I know why the football is rubbish, it's completely understandable. I expected the football to be rubbish, for all the understandable reasons. But my dear God apart from the two League Two play off games it's been absolutely dire.

Good shout re. those League 2 play-offs, your comment led me to watch the highlights. Nice to see ex-R Michael Harriman make the decisive goal for The Cobblers:
"Things had started becoming increasingly desperate at Loftus Road but QPR have been handed a massive lifeline and the place has absolutely erupted. it's carnage. It's bedlam. It's 1-1."

I've been watching Spanish and English football since Friday Night and if she could make it stop I'd sleep with Katie Hopkins.
Haha now that’s a grim thought. I think it’ll get better but it’s never going to be the real deal which is a good thing as football needs supporters.
Probably on my own here but enjoying the Man Utd game. Pogba and Fernandes a class above. Find myself focussing more on the game.
Don’t get me wrong, it’s not anywhere near the same level as watching normal football. But a few weeks ago I was watching repeats of the Premiership Years and old World Cup games. So this will do for now.

After the first week it’ll be interesting to see the Sky viewing figures going forward.
With the lack of a crowd I’m finding it unwatchable.

One of the few pleasures of the restart is seeing Arsenal now occupy the bottom half of the table. If they move any more South they’ll be back in Woolwich. Loving it!

It was never going to be as good and seeing the games without fans with half fit players nowhere near ready to start but it's needs must really. Get this season finished, see how you can train and play football in this new world and then work on getting crowds back for next season.
The big fear was of players getting ill and it becoming a farce which hasn't happened, if the quality of the games ends up being the biggest problem thats a success imo
